Nathan Knight 2-way deal
Nathan Knight 2-way deal
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Nathan Knight have agreed to a two-way contract, a league source told @hoopshype.
PF who Averaged 3.8 pts and 2.2 rebs for the Hawks in 33 games last year. Little reaserch I've done is Hawks fans like him because he played his ass off, he is physically undersized but a lop threat apparently. Never heard of him before today.

If you go to that tweet where we signed him. Hawks fans are legit sad he is going. Apparently a huge fan favorite because he played his ass off (what does that mean for Vando?)

I don't think it means anything for Vando.
I watched a few clips and he has a nice looking shot and moves pretty well. He took some 3's in college and was a good FT so he is pretty different from Vando in that he will be able to be some sort of threat outside the paint. He was a 20-10 guy at St Mary's. He reminds me a bit of Tyler cook although I think he has a little more size. Looking forward to learning a hit more about him. It's a positive that Hawks fans are sad to see him go. I'm also looking forward to seeing him play in Vegas. Also he put Moses Brown on a poster so that's something.

Wolves must like his intangibles. It's just a two-way, but I was hoping the second two-way would go to John Egbunu. John is a beast inside.

Re: Nathan Knight 2-way deal
Seems to have the physical profile to play the 5 in the NBA - rugged, decent height and weight, not afraid of contact. I only see him playing the 4 if he's paired with a more perimeter-oriented threat like KAT. In that case, who is really the 4 and who is the 5?
At the end of the day, it seems like a reasonable use of a 2-way. This team needs to be unearthing effective role players, leaving no stone unturned in the process. A big body that could mature into a solid NBA defender and rebounder with some modicum of offensive chops is a decent iron to have in the fire.

I agree. While I was hoping for Egbunu, Knight is the type of player we needed in that other two-way.

Watching some video of him both from last year and college he is a guy with the size of a center but offensively he looks like a guy that used to be a SF or SG in some ways. His shot looks pretty good and he can put the ball on the floor some too kinda reminds me of Naz in that way. He does also play in the post. He had a dunk on Jarrett Allen too which is pretty nice.
He actually played some decent minutes in a few games for a playoff team. The more I watch him the more I like him which is pretty typical for me but honestly I'm thinking we may have found something. He is skilled but also seems to know how to set a screen and cut to the basket. There was a comment from someone who watched him in college that said he has made a transformation in his body and looks more athletic. I can see that he looks slimmer. I get his some of his NBA stats don't look good but look at the foul rate he went tot he line over 7 times per 36. There was someone that tweeted out some impressive defensive stats that are interesting despite the small sample. This is the sort of guy I thought it made sense to go after and honestly at this point Atlanta is kind of a team you want to be getting players from. I had seen his name on a list of FA this week but before that I didn't know the guy existed.

Hard not to like the guy. That may be one of the most in depth profiles on a low tier NBA prospect I've ever read, LOL!
Gotta give credit to Rosas and Co. for continuing to find guys like this. He may not pan out, but if he does, you can look back to this profile and probably nod your head saying, "I should have known!".
