Olympic Bball Thread

Post by kekgeek »

This is probably a little early to make this thread but I just love international bball.

Wolves participating in Olympic activities:
Ant and Naz - Will be on the USA select team, where they will practice against team USA, great opportunity for both of them this summer

Okogie- Will be on team Nigeria

Rubio and Hernangomez- Will be on team Spain

Bolmaro and Pirigioni- Will be playing for Argentina and Pablo will be his coach. Good opportunity for Bolmaro to be coached by his future coach.

Love it! I've gotten into the Euro2020 soccer tournament too. Glad to see fans in the stands and these games getting played!

They said they wanted his Olympic experience on the roster. The Olympic committee likes to look after their former players. Allows Klove to help his trade value.

Also there is not many good bigs in the US.

Embiid, Towns, Gobert, Jokic, Capela, Ayton, zubac, Nurkic, all are not USA eligible and we don't know if Lopez or other solid NBA centers said no.

Not said Love is perfect but I get it

In a upset the men's 3x3 team ended up not qualifying. Hummel struggled and they were the team that won the world championship in 2019. I was really hoping to see Hummel get a medal. I'm not sure he will get another shot now.

It is just crazy to me that one of the players on that team is Joey King. I played against King in HS. He is 2 years younger then me but King is a very solid player but an Olympic 3x3 guy is just so shocking to me and some of the reason they did not qualify.

6 players moved up on team USA for exhibition play. Naz was not one of them. Former wolves great Cam Johnson moved up (along with Garland, Keldon Johnson and Sadiq Bet)

That's Cam Reynolds don't disrespect a Wolves legend like that!
