KG has a said net worth of $120M. He won't be able to have more than 10% share. I would be fine with Wilfs buying the team.

I know he can't be a majority owner. I'd be fine with the Wilfs I suppose too, even though they are a little scummy.

What Johnny Athletic said yesterday is KG wants to be apart of basketball decisions. I don't want that from my owner

I would say most owners are in some way involved, it's just the nature of being an owner. They are hiring the guys calling the shots anyways, I'm sure they have input on who is brought in and what contracts are extended, etc.

I remember the Bulls owner from the Jordan doc talking about decisions quite a bit. How he told Pippen not to take the long term deal, and if he did not to come back to renegotiate. Some owners may be mostly hands off though, but I think that is rare.

I don't want that from KG. I still remember the THud and Hassell deals he helped get done.

I was thinking about those as well, but I think if he is surrounded by other smart decision makers along with learning from his mistakes he could be a useful asset in the front office. Having him around the organization I think is an overall positive. He could get on players for slacking, etc. Wiggins was even marginally decent then too wasn't he? The question is how involved he would be and how much of a say would he have as a minority owner?

This may just be a necessary first step for Taylor, once he doesn't get an offer from a Minnesota-based investor for over 800 million he's going to have no other choice then to get his 1.2 from an outside investor. The pre-Covid 1.38 valuation of the Timberwolves implies its value in an open market, not in a highly controlled sale. The Wilfs are probably out because 1.2 billion for an NBA franchise that has to stay in Minneapolis is a ridiculous investment. If Taylor is really serious about keeping the team in Minnesota he's going to need to drastically change his perception on price. I don't see how he can have it both ways.

If the new owners decide to move the team, I hope another small market steps up. A Louisville or Omaha maybe.

The more I think about the more I want them to move it. Maybe we can get a franchise again in 10-15 years and they actually won't be a joke.

For years fans complain that the owner isn't emotionally invested in the team. Only looking at the bottom dollar they say.
I don't doubt he would bring the same mentality to ownership that he did as a player. How could that be a bad thing? It should endear him to fans much like Cubans' approach in Dallas.
Wouldn't you rather sink or swim with someone that cares too much than some one u feel worried more about the bottom line?
