Well, it was one game and fortunately his teammates stepped up. I'm going to avoid piling on since he has ample chance to change the narrative in the Memphis series. And I don't think that means we HAVE to win the series for the narrative to change, but we need him to play well and make an impact.

Just listened to Dane Moore's podcast. Apparently KAT was all pouty after the game and Dane is worried we're going to get a Houston redux. Remember how he pouted and played through the first couple games of that series?? Of course he didn't have as supportive of an environment with Thibs and Butler leading the charge, but still...........SOFT!!!!

I just said in the prior post that he deserves a chance to change the narrative, but man, hearing how he acted after the game is super disappointing. Get over yourself and your victim mentality!

He has absolutely zero excuses, this won't be his first playoff series, Jimmy Butler is gone, and he has a favorable matchup offensively against the Grizzlies big men. They can't double him with a plethora of rangy wing players like the clippers, so he better put up or shut up.

I hadn't heard that. If true, it's really disappointing. I was hoping that what happened last night might finally get his attention and cause him to take a long, honest look in the mirror at his flaws and the need to grow up. I'd like to believe that Finch will confront him if he hasn't already. It almost seems as if KAT needs an intervention led by his friend DLO, along with Pat Beverley, Taurean Prince and Finch - maybe bring in KG. They need to show up at his house unannounced and tell hit him hard with the truth about his immaturity and need to stop this victim BS.

Towns could learn a lot from his friend DLO. Case in point last night - DLO maneuvered into the lane in the 4th quarter for a short jumper, but missed. He missed because he was obviously fouled but he didn't get he call. Nevertheless, he didn't linger in the lane pouting or whining. Instead he got back defensively right away and committed a smart foul at half-court to prevent what would have probably been an easy bucket on the other end. Only after that did he complain to the officials, but even then he didn't whine or go on incessantly.

Alright - that was an unexpected laugh (title) when I opened up this site. Yes, terrible game by Towns. You certainly expect your stars to lead - especially in big games. But I'll reserve judgement until I see what he does in the playoffs. Props to Ant and Russell for picking up the slack. I didn't see the game, but maybe Towns got so much attention - it opened things up for them - IDK. But it will be interesting to see what our high priced guys do in games that really matter. This is where you earn your reputations (good or bad).

Good to hear from you Carlos. I'd say the game we played on Tuesday really mattered. Ant and DLO came through in a huge way. KAT....face plant! Thanks to Ant and DLO, he now has multiple games to redeem himself. But that was such an immature performance from him. As much as he thinks of himself as the team leader, he's not. He's their best player, but not their leader. I think the hierarchy of locker room leadership is something like this: Finch-PBev-DLO-KAT-Prince. And one could argue that Prince just might be ahead of KAT on that hierarchy.

Hey Q. Interesting take on the pecking order. True confession - when they signed Beverley I was like "pffft. This guy is old and not even that good. This is not a needle mover". Wrong! IMO - He's literally had a greater impact than Jimmy Butler with regard to changing the culture (along with Finch). I think you inadvertently left Ant off your list though. I'd probably slot Ant ahead of DLO as #3. It was either you or Lip that noted in another thread that he's another big part of the culture change and I agree with that. It feels like they finally have some pieces in place....

Getting Beverley wasn't a 100% success. He clearly didn't get to Towns. And that's who needed the attitude adjustment the most. Having said that, I think Pat instilled some dog in the other guys.
