It's funny, I used to see him at my health club all the time, and had several conversations with him. A genuinely really nice guy. It's just too bad that I knew more about basketball than he did. LOL
I got to know David Kahn fairly well. I agree, Cool, he was a genuinely nice guy. Unfortunately, he had no business as head of an NBA team's basketball operations.
Meh. He picked wax from his ear and then immediately put that finger in his mouth...
... you can't trust somebody like that.
Ha, that's a little more in line with the image I have of Kahn than Cool's and Lip's. I'm going to defer to both of them, because I never met the guy. But reports I got from guys who knew him were that he was an extremely introverted oddball. I would sometimes see him at games by himself and not interacting with anyone...just kind of off in his own world. And that's consistent with how others described him to me. But I guess "nice" is not inconsistent with "oddball", so I suspect both reports are accurate.
Anyway, now we have the gregarious and always comfortable in any setting Gersson Rosas, so things are looking up...right?

This makes it even more of a coup that Minnesota was able to move him for a meaningful rotation player. In fairness, Hernangomez should never have been signed to that contract, but it's nice they were still able to turn him into an asset via trade.

Only... Kahn actually did that on live tv.
I've mentioned it before. It was early in his first season. They were priming the halftime interview with him and showed him sitting in the crowd. That's when he went deep into his ear and immediately to his mouth with that finger.
I'm 100% serious about this and yes... I've looked for any clip or any other mention of this online. So far... nothing. But I've been talking about it since the moment it happened because I was amused/disgusted.

It's actually a second-round pick swap in 2026, which is a hilarious detail.

They owe a protected 2nd round pick that year so that makes it even more fun.
I Grizzlies are going to have acquired like half of the PGs in the NBA before the offseason is over.
I'm not exactly sure what Memphis is doing this offseason but it's kinda interesting.

The Patrick Beverley trade may go down as one of Gersson's best moves in his tenure was the Wolves PBO. Drafting McDaniels and Edwards will likely end up his two most important and impressive moves. Signing Naz Reid is up there, but I'll put the Beverley trade at #3 right now.

Re: Wolves trade for Pat Beverly
Just wanted to go back to this thread so we can all relive that excitement we all felt when we got PatBev. Seriously, how often does this board almost uniformly agree on something? And then it turns out to be right? Awesome feeling. I love it.
I can't "quote" myself on the thread, but I'm cut-and-pasting below what I wrote on page 9 because I'm feeling this way now more than ever. Jawohl!
Pat Beverley is a loud-mouthed, arrogant, borderline-dirty asshole whose talent level doesn't match his effort. Everybody hates him.
In other words, I fucking love this trade.
Wish we'd have gotten him a few years ago, but I can only concur with the consensus here that this dude should help us out. If he can help prompt Ant to take more pride and give more effort on defense, his impact is going to be way more than his stats suggest. There will definitely be games when he pulls some shit and opposing fans are going to hate us for it, but fuck 'em. We got our asshole now.
Jawohl! (yah-vole) This is what all my German buddies yell when something awesome happens. On the surface, it means something like "yes indeed," but in practice, it's more like "Hell yeah!"

Yup, no doubt that he and Finch really helped change the culture. DLO and KAT simply don't have the gravitas to lead men into battle and Ant is still too young. Finch's schemes and no-nonsense approach and PBev's vet leadership and toughness is what helped put this team over the top.
Talent + Leadership = Playoffs!
