Yep. During the Memphis series I was wishing we had drafted Bane. I remembered he was the last pick in the first round. Then I started thinking about Maxey and Bey, as well as our own McDaniels, which prompted me to go on line and look. It's a really impressive list of players drafted in the bottom half of that draft. Abe's post about Clarke prompted me to look at the 2019 results. Another impressive list from #11 on down.
It's a reminder that we shouldn't underestimate the value of the Wolves pick this year at #19.
Yes that lock could be worth holding onto and more than Gupta said they want to be competitive now but still be looking at the future so that pick might be something they will be somewhat hesitant to give up unless they are getting a young player they think is going to answer a spot so basically be a piece going forward. I think that might be unlikely to find especially since they would have to give up something other than just that pick to do it.
Looking back at that draft any of the 2nd rounders we have could have value too although obviously we can't pick a guy with all of them. Heck I've noticed Jalen McDaniels at least statistically seems to be turning into a decent depth player which is a win for a the Hornets with a pick in the 50's. There is a nice group of undrafted players from that draft class I would be happy to have on the roster and one of them includes Naz Reid.
