I'm curious why you guys didn't like the Vikings draft. Thought it was really good actually.
Moving down to draft a safety at 32 when the best safety and arguably top 5 player in this draft was there at 12 in Hamilton bugged me. Being responsible for division rivals getting their guy at a premium position bugged me. Booth falling into our laps softens the blow but the other two picks look like reaches. Hope I'm wrong tho!
Yeah, I would add to this the fact we passed on Matt Corral 3 times to take those reaches. Kirk is decent but he is never going to win a super bowl. And Kellen Mond doesn't look like he has it either. We need to get that $35 million off our books and build with a young quarterback who can help us improve the rest of the roster. Not taking Hamilton was insane.

- I really think DLo was hampered by the leg injury that caused him to miss a couple games at the end of the season.
- Beasley really needs his teammates to find him, and that did not happen enough.
- One of Finch's comments was the poor shot selections are baked into the team's DNA. He also laments the poor defensive rebounding. I am sure those will be top priorities he addresses this offseason. We are really lucky to have him as our coach!
My biggest expectation next season is a move for big man to compliment KAT, moving Vando to the bench.
But it's been a really fun season. Not only has it exceeded most everyone's expectations, but we have reason to believe the Wolves can be even better next year.
Maybe someone can speak to this that watched more games but I think some of the wolves poor shot selection is baked in partly because Finch gives players freedom to make plays. He isn't a guy with a massive playbook calling out plays. I'm not blaming Finch I'm just saying that there is positives and negatives to that sort of offensive game. For a few weeks it looked like Finch was a genius getting the team to actually play defense but the offense was really underwhelming. Then the team took off. Obviously some of that is the Wolves do have a lot of talent but it also seemed like Finch got the Wolves to play better on that end. Towns played differently for a significant stretch of games. Now Finch and the Wolves have been in a playoff series and have a lot of god things to build on and lots of things to look back on and improve on as well. I would expect this team to come back hungry to win next season and hopefully willing to do whatever it takes to get there.
Excellent point on Beasley. I agree he just didn't get a ton of looks from 3 and some credit should also go to Memphis defensively as well.

I think it's telling that these QBs which I heard about for months aren't actually that good...didn't get picked very high. I'm not saying they weren't worth picking at all including for the Vikings but it's worth mentioning.
I didn't do much research at all for this draft but I would agree that the guys they picked after the Booth pick are less inspiring. I think the draft trade I actually liked the least was giving up a 4th next year. That one was head scratching for me. I'm curious to see what they do with the rest of the draft though. They don't seem to prioritize getting all the 7th rounders they keep moving more towards the middle of the draft than towards the end.
As for Mond I haven't given up hope on the guy yet he could be that guy people want to have drafted this year. Does he suck? Idk There was clearly a disconnect with the Vikings last year. Maybe he sucks, maybe he can be a useful backup or maybe he still has potential. Honestly I don't think anyone really knows yet. I would not have been against the Vikings drafting another QB but I'm not completely dismissing Mond. Ultimately part of whether any of this works depends on of O'Connell is a good coach especially offensively. If he isn't then none of this QB stuff probably even matters.
