The Mavericks are beating Charlotte by 64 points right now.

The Warriors beat the Lakers by 12 points last night. LeBron, Westbrook, and Anthony Davis all played substantial minutes for the Lakers while on the Warriors played without Curry, Thompson, Green and Wiseman. That's an impressive win for the Warriors. I'm watching the replay right now on NBA TV and I'm impressed by what I'm seeing from the Warriors as I was by the final result.
I didn't realize until tonight that Wiseman had a torn meniscus. The good news for him and the Warriors is that he had his meniscus repaired rather than trimmed or removed. That bodes well for his performance and longevity.

The Blazers lost by 45 points to the Suns tonight with Lillard and McCollum getting significant playing time. I wonder if a Simmons deal for Lillard might be in the offing. I still thin the Sixers would have to include some significant additional assets as part of the deal, but maybe it will happen. Simmons + three future first-round picks and three pick swaps for Lillard. That's the same pick package Morey purportedly demanded from the Pacers as part of a Simmons deal for both Brogdon and LeVert.

JD Shaw: The Clippers have waived George King and Moses Wright, the team announced. - via Twitter JShawNBA
So it's down to Giles and Hartenstein for the Clippers. Over the next few days, one of those two will make the Clippers' roster and the other will e released. The Wolves should absolutely sign the one who gets released.

Re: Around the league thread 2021-2022
The Magic signed Wendell Carter Jr. to a four-year, $50-million extension. He's been on my radar as a young, promising big that could end up being available that would compliment Karl-Anthony Towns. I actually think this increases my interest as that extension is very team-friendly.
Perhaps the momentum Mo Bamba has through preseason carries into the regular season and allows the Magic to deal Carter Jr. next summer. Frankly, I'd swap Malik Beasley for him straight up and plug him into the starting five.

I too would swap Beasley for Carter, but I don't see the Magic trading Carter after just extending him. If anything, it reflects their organization's continuing doubts about Bamba in spite of his pretty impressive preseason. I think we have a better chance of getting Mo Bamba than Carter via trade, although I"m not sure there's a deal right now that would make sense.
Speaking of the Wolves need to add a quality big, how about Tacko Fall's performance tonight - 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block and 8 points on 4-5 shooting in only 23 minutes. No, he's not the answer. But I was thinking that the Wolves should sign him back when the Celtics released him.
But again, I'm with you in really wanting the Wolves to sign the young big that the Clippers release. I'm hoping they release Hartenstein, but far more likely that they release Giles. I'd certainly prefer Hartenstein, but the Wolves simply need to sign whichever one is available.

Re: Around the league thread 2021-2022
The Mavericks announced in a press release that they have waived Tyrell Terry. Terry was the 31st overall pick of the 2020 draft and was on a guaranteed contract worth more than $3.3-million over the next two seasons, including a bit more than $1.5-million this season. If no team claims him off waivers, Dallas will be responsible for the full amount of the guaranteed money left on his deal.
Terry played just 11 games as a rookie last season, missing significant time to due personal reasons. He had been away from the team during preseason action as well, reportedly due to a family matter.
Edit:
Nick Angstadt: Coach Kidd told me that the Mavericks "had to make a decision between Frank [Ntilikina] and Tyrell [Terry] and chose Frank" when it came down to cutting former 31st pick Tyrell Terry.

If Tyrell Terry goes unclaimed on waivers and becomes a free agent, I would rather have him on a two-way deal than McKinley Wright. I doubt anything will materialize, but I still believe in his talent. I'm not sure what personal issues he's been working through, but the guy needs an entire season in Iowa to get some consistent run. He's a special shooter.

2 polar opposites in terms of undersized guards. Wright is nasty on D. Terry is really crafty on offense. I hope Terry's personal issues can be resolved regardless of basketball. I agree with you getting him on a 2-way would be something I would support although I have said I do still believe in Wright.
