Never fun when your shortest player has the highest basketball IQ lol
Re: Wolves vs. Grizz game 5 GDT
I think Clarke vs. Vando is an interesting contrast in power forwards: Two athletic guys that hit the glass with minimal shooting range, yet one consistently gets a lot more attempts (and makes) than the other. The reason is that Clarke is like 10X better at catching, securing, and finishing strong in traffic. Plus he's developed a nice touch from 4-6 feet out. Think of the target he'd make playing next to KAT!
My point isn't to rip Vando. He's helped us get to this point. But you can see how an upgrade might look like at that position. It doesn't have to be a unicorn C/PF that can space the floor, hit 3's and do all the other dirty work.

I don't want to think about that anymore...

Say what you want about the refs, but Clarke absolutely wrecked us inside.
Also, stuff like this is what drives me crazy about kat: https://streamable.com/6px6xn

Yep KAT want's to look amazing dazzling the ball all over the place as a 7 footer when really he could have drove left or right in a much more basic / purposeful way drawn in DLO or ANT's defender or had the smaller Tillman closer to the hoop. Then the nerve to complain on a clear travel......

J. Jackson might be on KAT's level when it comes to complaining :undecided:

I thought it was pretty amusing how often the Grizzlies (and crowd) complained considering how physical they were vs. how the fouls were actually called.
Even when the fouls were clear as day... they acted like it was an atrocious act of injustice. It was pretty bad, but that's the NBA we have today. And I think it attributes to why the officiating seems more uneven than ever. Nearly EVERY call gets scrutinized and analyzed and discussed that I'm sure there's even a lack of confidence at some point or just a general sense of uneasiness.

Clarke is an offensive player. I'm not saying a go to guy or whatever but he has skills. He isn't a good shooter but he is much more of one than Vanderbilt he has taken more 3's this season than Vanderbilt has in his entire career. One of Vanderbilt's theoretical skills is being able to handle the ball and pass. He is either scared or has clearly been told to get the ball to a guard. That's probably the smart thing as there are always ball handling guards on the court plus Towms most of his minutes. Clarke ain't gonna be running the point or anything but he can attack and do something it there is an opportunity. He is simply a more complete player plus absolutely yes he is better at catching and finishing. If the Wolves could find themselves a Brandon Clarke or Larry Nace type that would be a nice addition to the roster and those guys can be found later the draft and some of them were able to contribute quickly.

It would have been great to pull this one out and it was disappointing to lose but even though I get frustrated I still enjoy watching this team. Past Wolves teams would have lost this game by 15 or more. I absolutely think the Wolves could still win this series. Imagine being one of those Memphis fans that thought they were so much better than the Wolves. Lol

Exactly Monster. That's what I mean - we don't need to find the "perfect" 2nd big to play next to KAT. There is another step of goodness above Vando that still shouldn't be too costly.
