Why not? At 6'11, 250 with a 9'5.5 standing reach, he would provide the size we so desperately need. He would also add rebounding, which we desperately need. He's averaging 5.4 rebounds in only 12.8 minutes this season and he's typically been a double-digit rebounding throughout his career. He's a veteran who knows how to play. He's a guy who could help this team down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Apparently, the Sixers are pursuing him so he'll probably end up there. But the fact that the Sixers are pursuing him further convinces me that the Wolves should try to sign him.

Lip stated the case I was considering making for Jordon pretty well.

He was traded away from the Nets who traded him to save money against the luxury tax both this year and next season. The Lakers still have another big old center in Dwight Howard and DJ Augustine is the guy they are signing to replace Jordon's roster spot. Idk what the Lakers need or whatever but Augustine has been a pretty solid player for quite a while and is an excellent 3 point shooter who can handle the ball and play make some.

Do I want the Wolves to add Jordon? Not really but if you want size and rebounding it does make some sense.

I agree it's unlikely Jordan would sign with the Wolves. As I mentioned, I think he'll end up in Philly. But the question was why we wouldn't want him. Because "teams with his best friends on it didn't want him"? Lol. I think Monster explained accurately why the Nets traded Jordan and why the Lakers cut him. Is he washed up? That's a point worth considering. But he's played 32 games and averaged 5.4 rebounds in 12.8 minutes this season. That's suggests he still has some game. And watching videos of him this season confirms it. Yes, the Lakers cut him. But as Monster pointed out, they needed his roster spot to fill a more glaring need. Greg Monroe hasn't been able to even stay in the League even though I'm sure he has lots of friends in the NBA. :)

I'm not a D'Andre Jordan fan. Nevertheless, he would provide the real size this team needs and he can still play. I'd still prefer to sign Moses Brown who brings size and longer-term potential. Signing Brown would allow the team to get a good look at him for longer term consideration. But Jordan could probably help more than Brown this season in in the playoffs. I'd think he provides more of what we need (size and rebounding) than Monroe. Would he sign here? Probably not. But should the Wolves pursue him? Yes.

Is he good enough to get meaningful minutes for a deep playoff team? Probably not... as the Nets sat him for the final month of the regular season and never played him in the playoffs last season.

But is he better than the likes of Nathan Knight for a low-level playoff/play-in team? Most definitely. He can be a contributor off the bench for many NBA teams with his size and rebounding alone. But that brings us to the "more importantly" part... those types of guys aren't usually willing to go to places like Minnesota and may not be into buying into team culture and mentoring and all that good teammate stuff at this stage of their careers unless they're with their buddies.

The good news is there are plenty of big guys that can rebound and be big and stuff that would be happy to sign with pretty much any NBA team. Just one option if the Sixers sign Jordon then WCS will like be available although he isn't a big time rebounder but he is big and really mobile or his size. Another positive for Jordon going to the Sixers is there is a bigger role for him there as the primary Embiid backup. Here it's more of a change of pace guy who might play every once in a while or if someone gets hurt. That's partly why I like the idea of signing a vet like Monroe. I think the chances of him stepping in from time to time and contributing or not being bad are better than some guy that's played a handful of games in their NBA career. I'm also cool with going for some semblance of upside also.

The Nuggets are about to lose to the Thunder tonight. That will put the Wolves within 2.5 games of 6th place in the West. Looking at the Wolves remaining 19 games, I see 10 games the Wolves should win and 3 more they could realistically win. So I see the Wolves record over the next 19 games at somewhere between 10-9 and 13-6. At 10-9 they'll end up in 7th or 8th place. At 13-6, I think the Wolves will end up 6th.
