Pretty good game last night. Back and forth runs. Some crazy three-point shots. The end of the game was so slow though, with Spain leading and Germany had to go to the foul game. Stretched out the last minute to about 20 minutes of real time. Brutal.

LET'S GET THE ELAM ENDING!!!! Seriously, basketball needs to adopt that format to end games. It's already the best sport out there, and if they did that, think of how much better the ends of some games would be. Silver, adopt that throughout the G-League as an experiment for a year or so to ease it into the NBA!

Anyway, Schroeder and Lorenzo Brown were really going at it last night.

Rivers brings more size and defense, which we need, so I get why we went in that direction. Schroeder's still quick as hell, and he's an underhanded-scoop-layup-with-English-off-the-glass waiting to happen, but he's fairly redundant with JMac and Nowell. It does make me a bit nervous not having a 3rd traditional PG, but I think we've probably got enough ballhandlers to be able to bring the ball up the court, and while I'm a little more worried about having guys to initiate the offense if we have more than one backcourt injury, I'm a little more worried about our perimeter defense, especially in the playoffs, and Rivers can provide that while also giving us a bit of ball handling as well.

Former Timberwolves legend Lorenzo Brown is available. He has been pretty good in this tournament also. :)

Never should have let Juancho and Lorenzo Brown slip through our fingers.

I dunno, Lip -- all this really tells me is that EuroBasket is a much different brand of basketball than the NBA, where the Hernangómez brothers are the stars of the championship EuroBasket game, but neither are much more than role players in the NBA. It's apples to coconuts. If you're inclined to be negative about Rudy, you'll find something in this to worry about. If you're not, you won't.

I think the biggest thing to worry about with Rudy and KAT is late game matchups against teams that tend to rely a lot more on off-ball motion and 3-point shooting. Think Golden State with Draymond at Center, Wiggins at PF, Klay at SF, Poole at SG, and Curry at PG. Yes, they are small and may get killed on the glass, but I don't think they care if they are able to spring free for good 3-point looks. The fact is there will be times where KAT or Gobert will need to rotate and close out on shooters. They will be a split-second slower in doing so vs. a wing or guard and that could be all the difference between a 30% 3-pt shot and a 40% 3-pt shot.
