Sure Rudy is good. Nobody ever argued that he was a really good player. The argument (at least from me) is about fit (playoffs, not so much regular season) and opportunity cost. I fully expected us to be 6-0 with several convincing wins so far, considering that starting schedule. The fact that we're 4-2 (and probably deserve to be worse) only makes my argument stronger. If we didn't have Kat, I'd be all for acquiring Gobert. I literally sit here and lol at you all for thinking this 6 game start has been a feather in your cap. Look at Atlanta... they actually did it right. They gave up a bunch of picks (still less than us) for a premier guard in a guards league. They acquired a guard who fits their timeline, compliments their star player perfectly and is on a very reasonable contract. That was a great trade for them. This is the trade we should have made. Murray and Ant, with Dlo or Nowell as the 6th man would be great. We'd still have Kessler in this scenario and we could have easily signed another solid defensive big. But instead we're paying super max contracts to two centers... that's why this trade was 100% a bet on Ant being great right now... because if he isn't, we're totally screwed. But hey, I'm glad you all think the trade was so great. Ever since I've started reading this board, I've thought that lip was one of the best posters (along with cool and a couple others), so I'll take being in agreement with him on this trade.

You say the wolves should be 6-0 based on competition but you do realize outside of the lakers the Thunder, Jazz and Spurs are 10-4 year in games where they don't play the Timberwolves.

Wolves are 4-2 on a 54 win pace right now and yes the Jazz, Thunder and Spurs might end up being bad but right now those 3 have started the season as good as anyone in the NBA right now and the wolves are 4-2.

Gobert has also been dominate. You say the Hawks did it right but they have the same record as the Wolves and Murray can legit walk in a year while the Wolves have 4 years of control of Gobert

I fully admit you and lip may be right when it all shakes out
I also fully admit this is the most talented team we HAVE ever had
Talent doesn't win games, but with out it, you are not in the game to begin with.
The question is can we find a leader and can we be cohesive on the offensive AND defensive end.
These are not small hurdles, but they are not insurmountable
Is my win prediction a pipe dream at this point? Yes
But would it be more than a stretch to consider sniffing the second round this year? I don't think so
Kobe, Shaq, Bibby and Webber were in the prime of their respective careers the last time that happened
And we COULD go much further if we find that leadership and cohesiveness that both time and the right combination of players can produce
I say jury is out and Im still on board with the risk we took
But I admit, my glasses went from rube colored to rose colored

I hope I'm wrong and if we somehow pull this together and reach the WCF, I will definitely admit I was wrong.

Also, this team is really talented, but I don't think more talented than KG, Spree, Cassel, Wally and co. It depends how you define talent I suppose, but I'd take the talent on that team.

The difference between 2003-2004 and this team is grit. That team had an excess of it and this team has very little.

4 years of Gobert is a good thing? Teams put him in screen action and I want to puke.

Huh? Wolves are second in the NBA in pick and role defense this year. Why are you puking when the wolves have been elite this year stopping the pick and roll?

The DLO-Wiggins/Kuminga deal? Terrible. Embarrassing even.

Gobert is frequently sagging and no where near the ball handler in pick in roll action. I think that's very exposable and I will ask again 4 years of Gobert is a good thing?
