That's a hell of a deal for the Celtics. I'm surprised the Pacers were willing to do that deal. I suppose they might be able to flip Theis in another deal which could add value to the overall package. If they are gonna keep trying to win some games Theis won't hurt to have around.

I think the Celtics just screwed up.
I'm curious why you think so. It is a gamble but they are also not absolutely relying on Brogdon

Great deal for Boston. The Eastern Conference Finals team just got deeper adding a high-level starting PG on a reasonable contract. The Celtics are now more talented AND deeper. They're still young and they still have all but one of their future draft picks.
Emiliano Carchia: Sources expect Charlotte to pull the qualifying offer for Miles Bridges making him an unrestricted free agent after being charged for domestic violence by the LAPD. - via Twitter Carchia
Is it time for Connelly to swoop in and nab Mile Turner for the vet minimum or BAE? Maybe add a clause that terminates the contract if Miles misses more than 40 games due to prison time? :). I suppose Connelly would say no based on his principle about bringing in good people. But Tim was willing to make and exception to his no shot-cuts policy with the Gobert deal, so perhaps he can make an exception to his good character policy to get Miles on a cheap contract.
Seriously, I'd like to see the Wolves shore up the SF position because I'm still not convinced that McDaniels will become the player I think he can be and I'm pretty sure he's still a year or two away from breaking through. I was OK waiting for McDaniels as part of the more incremental approach in place before the Gobert deal. But I think. the win-now imperative created by the Gobert deal requires better insurance at the SF position than we currently have. With Beverley and Beasley gone, we really need Edwards in the SG position. That's where he's best anyway with his size and skill set.
So I'm only half-joking about signing Miles. I'm more serious about taking a chance on TJ Warren. I think it's especially important to add a starting caliber offensive SF to the roster given that, so far, Jaden's defense is way ahead of his offense. Connelly took a calculated risk dealing for Gobert. I don't like the risk, but I acknowledge it was calculated, not crazy. I would now urge Tim to take a calculated risk by extending a BAE offer to TJ Warren unless the medical reports indicate the prognosis for his foot is bad. My fallback is Caleb Martin on a minimum deal.

I'm cool with TJ Warren but hell no to Bridges. Have you seen the pictures of his wife (innocent until proven guilty) but what a piece of shit. Also hard to get passed he is charged with felony assault

I haven't see the photos and I won't look. There's no way I would sign Mile Bridges. My reference to "half-joking" was understated and simply meant as a bridge to discussing TJ Warren. Based on what I've read, he's going to do prison time. Signing him would send a horrible message and would undermine the credibility of Connelly and the ownerships focus on character. It's OK to violate the no skipped steps principle. But it's not ok to so fundamentally violate the character principle by signing Miles Bridges in light of what he has apparently done. And the PR effect of signing him would be devastating to the Wolves organization. It's a complete non-starter.
With the trade of O'Neale and Gobert for a shit ton of future firsts, you have to wonder if Mitchell is still part of their plans. Will they rebuild around him in the same way Portland is making another attempt to piece something together around Lillard or will they tear it down to the studs? It would really help us to see Utah jettison Mitchell to the East!

Good question, Q. The reports I've been reading this morning indicate that the Jazz are inclined to go the Portland route and do a fairly quick re-tool around Donovan Mitchell.

I'm not against signing another SF and hell yes on Warren if there is some chance of him staying healthy, but honestly the Wolves have sort of the player you are looking for already. Taurean Prince. Sure ai like him more as a backup but he is probably better than what we are gonna get for the vet min unless we get Warren and he is healthy. They could also move Anderson over to SF for some minutes if needed in case of an injury and they also have Moore who is a bit undersized but probably not so much if he is covering bench guys. I think Moore is an even better fit now he already is used to playing with an absolutely massive human being in Mark Williams.
