I guess I'm trying to get my head wrapped around this, as I understand that people are angry and hurting right now (whether you agree or disagree with their actions, the anger and hurt they feel is real and should be acknowledged).

Having said that, are they boycotting as a protest and if so, how is that supposed to help things? Sports often brings people together and can distract from the daily grind.

Or, are they boycotting because it's all too much to bear and they just want to get the hell out of the bubble and with their loved ones again?

If it's the latter of the two, I kinda get it. If it's the former, I don't get it.

I think they are saying now is not a time for a distraction. Real attention has to start going to changing this issue and for the evil criminals killing under the guise of false justice need to be brought to account.

Like anyone really cared. Ratings proved that.

Now we will see if they will play but without the bubble. The ratings will be even worse.

What is the point of a protest?

This is about as crazy as if I boycotted my job because I felt bad about something bad that happened somewhere else in the world... So yeah, pretty crazy. Exercise your freedom as you see fit, but i don't want to hear these guys whining later when they run out of money and nobody cares about their stupid league anymore.

Just curious...why didn't they protest NBA China academies when they learned children were being abused? Have any of the players actually even spoken out about this?

I wouldn't quit the season if I were them. Then their voice is even lessened. If they want to make change, drag this out. Don't quit and go home. Then what? You just gave up your leverage!

It makes no sense that they would quit.
