Cam a player on a 2-way deal I'm J-Mac's position is a RFA. The ONLY contract a team can offer him to sign him away from the wolves is...a 2-way contract. The reality is unless he basically refuses to play for an NBA team the Wolves COULD simply hold his rights as a 2-way player next season. I don't expect that to happen but it's just another reason why I don't think there is any way he is going anywhere. He is clearly ahead of Spellman and Evans and obviously Martin. Vanderbilt...idk they seem to like him. I like him in theory.

The other question is how do they value that option of signing another2-way guy with J-mac's spot. I think it will be a little interesting to see what they do with Martin. Do they sign him to any type of deal? Keep him on a 2-way? Give him some money to be an affiliate player? Martin I'm not that concerned about but I find it interesting. I think he is worth keeping around in some way but I wouldn't keep a roster spot including a 2-way for him but I wouldn't be Completely against it. I'd guess there will be more intriguing names out there to sign a 2-way deal but Martin does also weirdly keep seeming like he sort of belongs...and the Wolves have likes 20,000 wings.

You're only half right here, monster. Yes, J-Mac will be a restricted free agent. The new team would have to offer at least a two-year offer sheet to the restricted free agent in order to pry him away from my understanding. That's certainly feasible for a player that showed as much promise and production as a reserve as J-Mac last season.

Where did you get your info on that? I could be wrong but I think to be able to sign a vet min deal (or more) like you said the offer would have to be at least for 2 years it's after having 2 years of being a 2-way guy. The qualifying offer for J-Mac is a 2-way deal. I can't find it but I specifically remember reading 2-way guys after their first year are basically locked in for that 2nd year if the 2-way deal qualifying offer is extended...which is why basically any 1 year 2-way deal is not much different than a guy signing a two year 2-way deal. If you do find something please post it because I'd really like to know if I have the wrong info for future reference.
