I understand your thinking, Kahns. I can't say it's wrong. But my take is a bit different. I think Glen Taylor's obligation is to the organization and especially the fans who ultimately provide the team's income. Glen owes the team and its fans the best chance of success and I think that requires the organization to at least consider replacing Ryan with one of the far more qualified head coaching candidates who've become available. Given his age and credentials (or lack thereof), Ryan should consider himself fortunate to be an NBA assistant.
I don't think Ryan deserves a fair shake. Time is ticking with KAT, can't just waste a season to hope Ryan becomes an average head coach
Yeah, I agree with kek here. I don't think it was fair that Ryan Saunders even got the head coaching job to begin with. My stance on that is well-known. The Wolves owe him absolutely nothing besides a phone call telling him that he's been removed from the position and good luck in the future.
Well said, Cam. The Wolves organization owes the fans a fair shake, not Ryan Saunders who should never have been named head coach in the first place.

I think that's fair characterization. In the 2018-19 season he had 18.2 points, 4.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds and a steal per game while shooting 43.7% from the field, 36.7% from behind the arc and 84.4% from the line. Those aren't spectacular individual stats, but I'd characterize them as more than just solid, especially given his role as the staring PG on a 54-win team that season.
Maybe we should try to get Kris Dunn back before he explodes the way Murray has this summer. :)

Glen is the worst owner in sports. The fans are not going to get a fair shake as long as he owns the team. We have an inexperienced and unqualified coach because our owner (who apparently doesnt meddle with basketball decisions according to some of his defenders) put him there. Our bad drafting and development, questionable hires, relations with our former players, have all been skewed by the worst owner in sports.
I bet if you took the consensus majority of this board for every pick the Wolves would be a Championship contender. Not bottom dweller. In fact just throwing darts at the board would do better then our former management./scouts/POB's.

I'm not ready to write of Ryan as a bust coach yet. Last year was imo an obvious tank job then a complete overhaul of the roster. They were happy losing games. So sure you can say he may have done some in game things poorly here or there. The test is this upcoming season. No need to tank, no 1st round pick to tank for. So we will see theoretically a full effort to win every game.
Murray was my pick by a mile, followed by by Hield. Everything was lining up and Coach Calipari was raving about him saying how perfect he was for Minnesota. While I didn't want Dunn, i think he would have been a decent player in this league had he not gotten injured. But yes Murray is one of many many misses in our drafting history. Lets hope we can turn it around this year, and make the right pick or trade with the 1st pick and find a way to come away with someone like Saddiq Bey or Williams by trading up a few spots from 17.

Those are "good NBA starting PG" numbers, but not a guy that helps carry you to a WCF appearance. In prior years, their success was largely based on having multiple good players, but no clear star with the exception of may be Jokic. Now Murray is playing like a legit star in these playoffs and its what helped them make a deep run. Murray + Jokic > Leonard + George if you wanted to oversimplify a bit. That would be hard to even imagine before this past week.
Lipoli - Sadly I think Kris Dunn is at his peak. He is 3 years older than Murray.
Bleedspeed - Sadly, you're right about Dunn. As for Murray, I recall that you, Cam and I all wanted to draft him, although I was on the fence between Murray and Hield.
