This should be a fun game.
Saric was a part of the trade to move up and get Culver but at this point that doesn't seem like any kind of asset Since Culver wasn't better than guys picked below the spot we picked so I'm not even going to count it at this point.
Beasley and Juancho came back in the Covington trade so they are assets.
I tend to consider Vanderbilt and KBD swapped for each other so I don't include him but some may certainly disagree on this.
Wolves traded #17 #33 and a future 2nd for Rubio #23 and #28. James Johnson was also a part of that deal mostly for salary. The Wolves basically used #33 to trade up so maybe we should just say #17 netted Rubio and #28 for McDaniels? Idk that translation is tricky and Johnson has some value as a player but that's what I'm gonna go with I'd be interested to hear how others would sort it out.
So what I have right now for the Butler trade is:
Malik Beasley 4 years 60 million with 4th year team option.
Juancho 3 years 21 million 3rd year team option
Ricky Rubio 2 years approximately 34 million (Keep in mind we would have been paying Dieng or Johnson this season)
And Jaden McDaniels end of the first round money for up to 4 years.
So for my breakdown that's 4 players for Butler. Rubio for sure will help the next 2 years in some way. The other guys are less known. How much of an asset with this group be to the Wolves the next year or 2 years any beyond? How do others see the breakdown of assets?
Another way to look at the group is in terms of salary. Jimmy Butler will make a little over 34 million This season. If you add in 3 vet minimum salaries for 3 more roster spots you have about 39 million. Beasley Juancho Rubio and McDaniels are around that number give or take a few hundred thousand. Again keep in mind that Dieng or James Johnson instead of Rubio would account for a big chunk of that number. The number isn't also much different if they had kept Covington and Saric although both are better players at this point than Beasley and Juancho.
So one of the issues I kinda had with giving Juancho and Beasley the contracts they got was that the salaries were pretty big relatively speaking but the reality is looking at what we could have had it seems more palatable especially if they end up being worth while Players. They don't have to be awesome to deserve those contracts relatively speaking and it's possible either or both outperform them. Beasley is more likely to do so but Juancho doesn't have to do as much to be worth his money.
Ultimately we could end up with not a whole lot for Butler but there is some hope in the group we have now. I know some people have other ways they would have liked to use various assets especially in this draft but I'm mostly looking forward to seeing this play out. It's hard to win a trade when you deal a star player. Hopefully the Wolves have added guys that can help them move forward. They don't have to hit on all of them for it to be worthwhile.

Trade trees are fun and can effect a franchise for over 20 years. I believe I posted the Chick Knoblauch trade a couple years ago. Here's a good article about the longest baseball trade trees.

Butler for a first round exit and a turnover of Beasley, Culver, Juancho, Vanderbilt, Spellman, Evans seems rather sour to me.
I wouldn't have traded LaVine, a #7 and #14 pick for that shit.

Of course not. But were you the one person who predicted that Butler would go apeshit on a probably playoff team... call out the young superstar center on national television... sabotage an entire season...
... AND be supported by the coach and front office for his actions...
_______
... AND in the craziest subplot of all... possibly be proven right in doing so?

I might just be the craziest person who just would not have done it. Look back, I hated it. It was dumb at the onset, and proven dumb after.
