How was it a reach when it was widely presumed that Boston would take him at 26 since they didn't have the roster space to take on 3 first rounders?
Other mock drafts had Bolmaro going in the second round. The mocks that had him going to Boston didn't have Boston trading up to get him. It also seems pretty clear that the Celtics are in a much better position than the Wolves to take a flyer on a guy who shoots 32.5% from the field and around 20% from behind the European arc. Just a thought.
I was fine with taking Edwards with the top pick (although would have preferred Wiseman). However think we completely botched everything else. I think Rubio could have been had for James Johnson, 33 and a future 2nd.
I have no faith in Jaden McDaniels even making the Wolves active roster. Let alone being part of the rotation. Bolerno I don't know enough about to have an opinion, but it seems like they wanted to draft and stash to save a roster spot.

I agree on your Rubio take. They would have taken that easily. They clear a year of cap, still get picks, and move off a player they clearly had no intentions of keeping.
Also agree on McDaniels. He is a bonehead. Plenty of physical talent, just zero mentally. Nor actual practiced skill.
Bolmero probably would have been available in the 2nd.

McDaniels in the short term doesn't have to nor is he expected to. He can spend all the time he needs in Iowa. He's not a win-now piece. Nothing wrong with that. They just have to have faith in what they're doing in Iowa and to be fair, that was one of the high points of the organization last year. They got a lot of positive results from how they handled Reid and Nowell there.
I was one who didn't mind the McDaniels pick. But in all honesty I hadn't heard about the mental problems a lot of you are talking about. I hope it's not a lack of intelligence because it is such an underrated trait. I hope it's more about immaturity, at least you have a chance to mature.
Believe it or not, there's many 20 year olds walking this earth still growing up and learning from their mistakes. Just becuz there's none on this board doesn't mean they're not out there!! Lol

If one was to grow the perfect modern physical specimen player in a lab, it would be McDaniels. They just forgot to include the brain.

Lip, I hope this isn't the re-incarnation of Anthony Randolph!
Is there a bylaw in the timberwolves articles of inc that says we can only draft dumb unmotivated players?
