MN receives Eric Bledsoe and Tyson Chandler
PHX receives Dieng, Tyus and Aldrich
I'm not 100% on board with it yet, but if Towns continues to struggle we will need a defensively sound C like Chandler. Bledsoe is also Teague insurance if Teague keeps playing like he is. I would probably give it another month before I would go all in on the idea depending on how we play. It's not a lot for them to get given what they are sending out, but they backed themselves into that corner with their handling of Bledsoe. Thoughts?

Why would you not be 100% in favor of that trade?

swap Tyus with Brooks
Re: Semi-blockbuster
Wolfson had George Karl on one of his latest podcasts (I thought Karl had some good insights) and he asked Karl about how Bledsoe would fit in Denver. Karl's said Bledsoe would clearly be an upgrade from the PGs they had there but he thought they needed a guy that was more of a playmaker that could run the offense etc. He said he thought they needed a guy more like that than Bledsoe who is more of an athletic guy that gets up and down the court. It made me happy to stick with Teague. I wouldn't be too excited to give up Tyus either and to be honest that's about the only real young asset the Suns are getting back in this deal. I'm sure they can do better and they are even taking on more long term money with Dieng.

Because Towns at the 4 wastes most of his mismatch potential. Everybody seemingly has stretch 4's now so defenders are used to being out on the perimeter. The best case for me is still that he can be a good enough defender at the 5 to stay there. Play 5 out. That's supposed to be the benefit with him at the 5. You lose that with him at the 4. 5 out let's you drag the Gobert's/Adam's/Gasol's of the league out of the paint. That's a big advantage. I'm also willing to give Teague more time before writing him off and Bledsoe doesn't look to be a clear upgrade right now. He'd help push the tempo more, but he can't shoot any better than Teague. It's not a home run deal.

Aldrich is a negative.
Tyus Jones (even though I'm a provincial rube and like him) is mostly irrelevant.
Dieng is a bench guy.
I'm on record as one of the biggest proponents for keeping KAT at the 5 for his unicorn status. I'm not advocating putting Chandler in the lineup ahead of him. I think KAT still gets 30 mpg at the 5.
I'm not pushing Teague out either. I simply think that the Wolves are getting much more value/assets back and it could be the first step in multiple moves.

I think Chandler is an afterthought in this deal. I doubt he's start. I don't know his contract situation. My guess is Phoenix get s a better deal then this.
