Statement game- Wolves/Spurs GDT
I'm going to the game tonight, so I thought I would tee this one up early. It's way too early to talk about "must wins", but this one is pretty close to that category. The Spurs are missing their "by far" best player and are young and not very good at PG, and are playing the second half of a BTB after winning a tight one is Dallas last night. Seems to be that this is a very winnable game (how about being favored by 3 over the Spurs???), and it will be disappointing if we can't pull this one out.
Working against us is the Spurs dominance in this series, Gorgui listed as doubtful, and the big disparity in coaching (which exists most nights with the Spurs). We need to overcome those three things and win this game.

"Must win" games in November...sorry but this make me chuckle every single time.

Ha, you're right monster! That's why I put "statement game" in my heading. There are no must wins in the first half of the season, but a loss tonight as a 5-point favorite will be a big disappointment. I'm looking forward to this one.

I'll never be disappointed in a loss to the Spurs as long as Pop is there. Give him a G League team and he could still win a decent chunk of games. Wins are great. Losses are just the standard.

Not a must win, but the type of win we need to get in order to provide an early indication that we are more than a middle-of-the-road team this season.
Unlike Thibs, Pop doesn't play his starters tons of minutes, so my guess is that the back-to-back thing won't really affect them much. He used 7 guys off the bench last night in the win against Dallas.

Yep, I agree, it is not a must win but with Kawhi out it would be real nice to take one from the Spurs. Is it season over if lose, of course not but take advantage whether they are not at full strength and continue to protect the home court

We're playing spurs basketball. I don't know how they control pace like that so easily. It's insane.

Gibson to the bench, Dieng out of the game, finally we'll get to see Belly play some decent minutes!
