But I do appreciate how much it's helping the Wolves recently. Russell is getting really good at it, and is earning more respect from the officials with it. I also dig his subtlety when he goes to hoop. Case in point, the final drive when he just bumped Simons enough while driving to create space as he leaned away at the finish.
Yeah, he's using it all the time with great success when we're in the bonus. An easy two points (or just one if it's crunch time and our guys like to make things closer than they should be by clanking free throws! Doh!).
Those kind of gimmicks work in the regular season, but once we (hopefully) get to a 7-game playoff series, he'll get away with it once or twice and that will be it the entire series. The opposing team will either learn to not stick their arm out or the threshold of calling it will go up.

It's impossible not to like their chemistry and how they play off each other on and off the court. This was a very entertaining -- and telling -- presser to me. Give it a watch. There are some awesome quotes here and it's not too lengthy.

Dlo dressed as a proud poppa next to him lol
DLO might have the PERFECT personality fit next to Ant and KAT. He's the professorial dandy that acts as a neutralizing force between a young super-comet and an overly sensitive, tempestuous star. Love it!
Update: The Wolves are now 22-13 (.629) this year when both Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell suit up. They're 35-25 (.583) together since the trade that brought Russell to Minnesota.

Eventually, people beyond Wolves fans will realize that the current core seems to be working out pretty damn well right now.
I forgot to mention it, but Minnesota's won eight of their last 11 games and four of their last five. They're on a really nice roll right now as a team. It hasn't always been pretty, but they've been getting it done. However, the next four games on the schedule are a bitch -- to put it nicely.
1/27: at Golden State
1/28: at Phoenix
1/30: vs. Utah
2/1: vs. Denver
They're already ahead of where I thought they'd be after last night's win, but Minnesota could very well drop all four of these games. If they do, don't panic. Don't get too low. That's the best of the best in the Western Conference with a back-to-back on the road included. That's tough. If we come out of that stretch 24-27, then that's OKAY. There's four games against Detroit and Sacramento right after where they can make up the damage.
With all of that said... I think there's a decent chance the Wolves go 2-2 and continue riding this wave. I think they could split the back-to-back and then beat Denver. With Golden State missing Draymond Green, that would be my bet, especially if Patrick Beverley is able to play. This stretch should be a good test to see how close Minnesota is (as currently constructed) to leaping into the fifth or sixth spot in the conference.

Cam you've been keeping everyone on track with your unabashed optimism this year. I think it's pretty clear that this team is exceeding everyone's expectations. This team came out of that COVID episode firing with a renewed enthusiasm. Hard not to get excited. This is an easy team to cheer for, trimming the fat will really take us to the next level.

Honestly Covid might've been the best thing to happen to this team. It forced Finch to give Nowell run and he thrived and it also made McDaniels start attacking like he did in Las Vegas. Also they still won a game against the Celtics they had no business winning.
Sort of half watched the game. What stood out to me was how underwhelming RoCo played. Looked slow and missed that bunny to tie the game. I see the Wolves are rumoured to be interested in acquiring him, but I'm not sure I'd be prepared to give up much to get him based on what I've seen of him this season.

Yeah, he might be cooked. Of course, I thought the same of PJ Tucker last year before being traded to Milwaukee and then he proved really instrumental to their run.
The question is this: Can RoCo give us more than either Okogie or Prince? Certainly the RoCo of two or three years ago easily could.
