Projecting Blake Griffin's Line Tonight

WHO do we have on this roster that can slow down Blake Griffin?

Will we crush Jake Layman's spirit in Game 1? Juancho might only be nominally more capable at defending Griffin, but he's not really ready for the court as of last week and can't really guard Griffin well when in top shape...but may be able to put a little more weight against him.

Will KAT take the switches and pick up 3 fouls in the first 10 minutes of play?

Will we use Okogie to try and deny Griffin the ball and frustrate him? (We will definitely see this btw, and we can hope the Okogies small stature will earn us some charging calls when Griffin gets low).

How about Reid on Plumlee and KAT on Griffin?

I'm so excited! It's like going to the Doctor after a two week party with Charlie Sheen circa 2008. (It will be bad...but how bad?)

Blake will come out on fire in the first half putting up 18 and 7 on great efficiency. Midway through the third quarter he will tweak his knee on a non-contact play and sit out the rest of the game.

Well, it's certainly a tough matchup, but I think Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will make him work for whatever he gets. He's long, strong, and active with solid instincts defensively. Blake Griffin is a likely Hall of Famer and a difficult guy to defend for every team, but Hollis-Jefferson is the best Minnesota ha-- wait a minute, I'm hearing the Wolves released him several days before the start of the season? Disregard. Prepare for the worst.

I really hope not. I am a fan of Blake. He signed a max, definitely expecting to stay with the team that drafted him, only to be traded shortly after to a shit team. I haven't heard a peep about him complaining in Detroit or demanding to be sent elsewhere. I respect that, even if anyone making that kind of money shouldn't ever complain, many do.

Well, Blake did not dominate tonight. And Karl's minutes were limited to 30 with some early fouls. Yet as a team the Wolves out-rebounded the Pistons, including on the boards. We also had more blocks, committed less fouls, and the free throw discrepancy was obscene -- in the Wolves favor.

So much for getting crushed by a bigger team, this time around.

That was a big surprise for me, 60Win, especially with our PFs getting only 4 between the two of them. KAT and Culver were magnificent on the boards, but this was a true team rebounding game. 7 of the 10 players who saw the court tonight had at least 4 rebounds- everyone except Rubio, Juancho and Jake. I love the stat and the mentality- EVERYONE is responsible for getting rebounds, and for playing defense.
