Western Conference Roster Swap Poll

Post by Lipoli390 »

Here's who I consider the 6 most valuable players on our roster in order of importance over the long term: KAT, Zach, Andrew, Gorgui, Ricky and Kris Dunn.

I would swap what I consider our most valuable six roster players in a heartbeat for Golden State's top 6 - Curry, Green, Thompson, Durant, Iggy and Pachulia. There are other Western Conference teams with whom I'd exchange our top six if taking a short term view. But taking a longer term view, I'm not sure I'd swap our top six with another other Westen Conference team -- certainly none of the others currently not in the top eight.

Which of the following teams has a top six you would swap for the six Wolves players I listed above? (Please list the six players on the other team that you have in mind). Note that you can vote for more than one unless of course you select none of the above.

I'll be in the minority here, and I'll take on the "homer" comments to the best of my abilities, but I voted none of the above. I'm all-in on Minnesota having the best nucleus to build a team with. Now, a lot of that has to do with their youth, unmatched athleticism, durability (so far), and their overall ceiling. When's the last time a team fielded three 21-year olds that averaged 20+ PPG each? The very fact that I can't even provide a guess to that question means that it must be pretty special. Yes, the Wolves have areas to get better at before they're going to be contenders, but I remain confident that this core has the goods. I'm also confident that Tom Thibodeau will get them to the promised land.

Warriors and Spurs.

Leonard is a top 5 player in the league and he's only 25. Our guys are promising, but there's no guarantee any of them will be in the top 5 ever. I think I can get a top 4 seed and be a contender with him every year almost regardless.

I'm with you here. Warriors and Spurs. Leonard shuts down any wing, and is now a true threat to score. He's a top 5 talent who plays within himself and his team. That's beyond rare.

I'd rather see them develop a champion of their own rather than buy one which would feel as cheap as Kevin Durant's first ring will.

A title is a title. I'll take one however we can get one.

Agree 100%

If the wolves gain a superstar when the young guys get good we would freak out and be so pumped

I wouldn't trade our core for any other roster in the league to be frank. In my opinion GSW has a 2 - 3 year window. In 2 - 3 years we will be kicking down the door and be a powerhouse for many years to come.

Patience is a virtue. Building a championship just has so much more merit then buying one.

I've waited *this* long for a team with a real future. I think I can wait just a little bit longer for a {keyword} potential dynasty that's actually homegrown. If things work out in our favor, which never happens but this time it does feel different, we'll be an NBA powerhouse for the next ten years at least. I don't think the same can be said based on rosters alone for anyone else in the league.

Granted, I realize I'm putting all my chips on a franchise that hasn't made the playoffs in 14 or so years, but you know what they say... The fifth rebuild is a charm.
