Thibs Supporter or not?
Thibs Supporter or not?
Cool's comments in a thread made me curious what these votes would be.
Move your mouse over one of options and click the option and then the vote button...well you should probably make your decision at some point so here is a basic guide if you need help.
Do you support Thibs as the coach for this team going forward? Then vote yes.
If you don't support Thibs going forward vote no. For example if you could pick another available coach for this team you should be voting no.
Anyway...get to voting.

100% even though he wasn't my top choice. Even though our record doesn't reflect it we are playing beyond what we saw last year from this squad. There are still individual strides to make but as a unit I have seen many moments of greatness on the court. As time has moved on those moments have been more frequent and more sustained.

AND if you vote no, you should provide ONE available head coach -- meaning he's currently not one of the 30 head coaches in the NBA -- that you would hire this summer if you had the opportunity. I have a lot of respect for this board, but I don't want us to become irresponsible with our takes. Put your money where your mouth (keyboard) is, so to speak. If you have a problem with the coaching situation, you should have an answer that you will stand next to instead of just wanting something different without providing a potential solution. I'd personally like to see some of them.

Re: Thibs Supporter or not?
I vote both. The team has gotten off to a God-awful start that no one can possibly be happy with, yet they have been extremely healthy and have often lost to teams missing a key guy or two. Thibs is the coach and POBO - how can he not share some responsibility for that?
I'm also willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now in the hope that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Perhaps these guys needed to take these lumps in order to get better in the long run. Time will tell.
And finally, it's a moot point. He isn't going anywhere. My question is that if the team continues at the pathetic pace it's on right now, what kind of actions does Thibs the POBO take to give Thibs the Coach a team that can compete?

Do I support Thibs as coach? Hell, yes. He was far from my first choice last spring and I think he has played a large part in the regression of this team, but I'm a Timberwolves' fan and we're stuck with Thibs for a few years, so I'm cheering for him to succeed. Heck, I didn't vote for Don Trump either, but he's my president so I'm supporting him. That doesn't mean that I won't criticize either or both of them when they do things I perceive as ill-advised, but ultimately I'll be happier is they are both successful.

Ha! Our first Trump reference in a while! I must congratulate this board for avoiding politics for the most part, as it is seemingly everywhere else one ventures to these days.
But leave it to LST to somehow throw these two guys into the same narrative, LOL!

Yeah, I should probably apologize...this board is a very nice respite from the constant political talk. I just thought my comment was innocuous enough to get away with...

He's our guy. I didn't like the decision at the time, but it doesn't matter. He deserves a lot more time to get the ship rolling in the right direction. And I think it's eventually going to work out for us. When it looks like it's not, I'll let you know.

Re: Thibs Supporter or not?
I was a supporter of Thibs til his first comments on the team. I think he severely underestimates the lack of patience we as fans have. This isn't a rebuild after some playoff run. This is now year 13 of misery and the team's getting worse. I think Thibs felt like we'd be fine thinking we're 2-3 years away when we heard that 2-3 years ago. I didn't like his draft. I definitely don't trust Layden after his job with the Knicks, and even though they've all been rumors, I don't appreciate the notion that for a guy so well known and admired throughout the league can only attract the dregs of the NBA and can only be linked to former Bulls.
