Next Ten Games

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

The Wolves have a pretty soft schedule for the next ten games. Only the game at OKC is going to be real tough. Frankly, if we have any chance at the playoffs, we need to win at least 7 games (preferably more) in the next ten. If we can't win at least 5 games in the next ten, I will throw in the towel on making the playoffs. Then I will hope for (1) player development, (2) a high draft pick and (3) a new coach (longshot I know but if Thibs coaches this team to perform below what Sam did then he's clearly the wrong guy to coach this team).

Okay let's look forward at the next 10 games. But let's not lose sight of the December win/loss record thread. We have been historically absurdly optimistic in this forum on wins predictions (with me as one of the worst performers), but if Thibs has achieved nothing else, he has sufficiently killed the optimism level to such a degree that we are at least getting better at forecasting. About half of us predicted a December record of 5-10 or worse, and with a 2-6 start, it appears we will be right.

That said, you're correct...the next 10 games look relatively soft. Still, our second half debacles show no signs of going away, so I see us going 4-6 in the next ten. But let's not despair. A .400 winning percentage would be a huge improvement over the .267 Thibs has led us to so far. I think a Thibs statue outside 600 1st Avenue may be in order if we can achieve that 4-6.

Wouldn't the Wolves be the soft spot on other teams schedules? The Wolves haven't had gimme games since the KG ,Cassell , Spree days.

After the worse game of the season (IMO) against Detroit the Wolves have shown some promising signs in the last 3 games. It feels like they have played pretty well for over 40 minutes instead of like 30 or so minutes. People are down after that Houston game but many were worried the Wolves were going to get run off their home court. Have the Wolves made some legit progress? If they have this schedule could show it by betting a decent chunk of wins. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

..and a hopeless optimist, ww. 3-7 of course would also be an improvement over the winning percentage to date.

We're coming!!!!!!

Monster, in just one paragraph I think you may have captured exactly what it means to be a Wolves fan this season...we're resorting to quantifying the number of minutes per game that we really suck, and high fiving when that number goes down!

Welcome to Thibsberwolves basketball!
