Trading wiggins will be a huge mistake. No doubt jimmy butler is the better player now but I will hang onto wiggins. Players that have the natural talent of wiggins don't come by very often. By all accounts, wig is a good kid, no out of the court troubles,no personal issues and he is a very hard and dedicated worker. 2-3 years from now, I can say with confidence that wig will be better than jimmy butler currently is.

It's that I'd like for the Wolves to build something special that can last for a decade and then continue with different pieces. I don't think Wiggins will reach the level of player Butler is right now, but I think we have to roll the dice and hope that our three Young Pups figure it out along the way WHILE MANAGEMENT BRINGS IN LEGITIMATE, PRODUCTIVE VETERANS TO MAKE THE PROCESS EASIER.

Right, Butler would be that legitimate productive vet! Keep in mind, we'd still have guys like KAT, LaVine, Dunn, and Tyus Jones around. This isn't completely doing a 180 in terms of dumping all the young potential for vets.

I'd prefer we not have to move anyone either, but I don't know how all options aren't on the table if we can't even match last year's win total.

1. There seems to still be reports that there is still bad feelings from at least the Bulls side (maybe both ways) so it just seems unlikely the Bulls would make a deal and Wiggins and a draft pick for Wiggins is a lot for Butler (even if you can make an arguement it's a fair value depending on how high the pick is) and I don't think that's going to be on the table. Have you heard Thibs talk about Wiggins? Have you seen how he has coached him?

Cam brings up bringing in vets. The hard work is done the Wolves have the top level talent and there is some solid complimentary talent here too. Cam wants a top level FA but I think even some top level rotation guys or solid starters could really help take this team to the next level. It will be interesting to see at the end of the season if there are some really solid determinations of what this team needs. Will a player step up? Will a player fail or not live up to be worthy of any significant role? There are a lot of games left to see what we have going forward not just with the young 3 but with guys up and down the roster.

Good stuff, Q.

After seeing your post about going back to watch it... I watched it closely on the highlights and mentioned how stupid the Wolves played.

Then again... maybe it was the grueling practice that was responsible...

Butler is currently a 24.8 ppg / 6.7 reb / 4.2 ast guy who still plays good to very good to even elite defense.

If Wiggins is a sure bet to surpass that in 2 or 3 years... the Wolves might have that elusive trip to the Finals. I'd never take 25/7/4 with good D for granted though.

That's pretty damn impressive. J

I agree with a lot of your points here in terms of Wiggins' good attitude and natural physical talent. I could absolutely see him eventually becoming an elite scorer in this league. In fact, he was an elite scorer through the first few games of this season because he was finally doing it in volume AND efficiency, which has always been a problem for him. Unfortunately, he's reverted back to his inefficient ways once again with tough, contested long 2's, step backs, and mid-range turnarounds. He doesn't do enough to get himself or others easy baskets, which is why Lip is frustrated with the "Wiggins as point-wing" offense.

May be something clicks eventually with this guy and he truly turns the corner to become a two-way impact player. But Jimmy Butler is a pretty high bar to get over.
