KAT is playing in a Call of Duty tournament. Glad he's got his priorities straight. This team deserves to fold.

So we're trading our best point guard and are left with one on the roster who shoots under 40%. Everything continues to point to tank to me.

I can't say the Timberwolves are, but the Warriors certainly are. By all accounts Steph Curry's hand is fully healed and he's been knocking down shots like crazy in practice but somehow he's not gonna be available until March 1. How is that possible when you've had the use of your lower half this entire time?

Good point about the Warriors obvious tank strategy, SJM. As for the Wolves, I hope Doper is right. That is, I hope the Wolves are truly tanking. I'd really like to see the Wolves out-tank the much smarter Warrior's organization. It would be nice to see the Wolves organization finally do something right. But alas, I don't think this organization can even do a good job tanking.

So here's the deal. The Wolves are clearly NOT a playoff team this season and they're never going to be a contender without a true all-star caliber guard to pair with KAT. Therefore, the situation clearly calls for a successful tanking strategy while also maximizing playing time to develop and evaluate the young higher-upside players on the current roster. In my view that means doing three things:

1. Trade Wiggins by the Feb. 6 deadline for a comparable shooter-term contract and future draft picks;
2. Trade Covington by the Feb. 6 deadline for a young high-upside player and/or future picks; and
3. Start giving consistently meaningful minutes to Nowell, McLaughlin, Vonleh and Martin

The Wolves should also shop Napier, who might have value to a contending team looking for a solid backup PG. The point is to amass as many draft picks as possible going into next June's draft while enhancing our own draft position. That's what tanking is all about and I sure hope the Wolves organization can effectively execute their tanking strategy. :)

The first order of business is to be all-in on tanking. I'm encouraged so far by the recent string of losses and Ryan's refusal to play two bigs after KAT's return. :)

Both the draft and FA classes are supposed to be weak.

So maybe the Wolves can lose on purpose to get a Derrick Williams or Anthony Bennett type... or overpay for a guy.
