It's hard to rip too much on Ant because he is still so young and has such a likeable personality. Plus he's done enough to wow folks that we all see the potential.

However, objectively speaking, he just misses too damn much, plain and simple. To take that many shots with a TS% of .471 is horrific. Literally no one else in the league gets that many shots with such a terrible rate of efficiency.

People will sometimes offer comparisons to Wiggins, but then say all the ways they are different (and generally favorable to Ant). Well, one thing Wiggins did better than Ant as a rookie was actually making shots. He wasn't great, but a hell of a lot better than Ant.

Yep. And while his on-ball defense is acceptable (although not exhibiting the extraordinary footwork and lateral movement of our other 19-year-old), his team defense is downright terrible. As much as I love his potential, his on/off numbers (which have more validity now that we are halfway into the season and Ryan has used so many different lineup combos) are dreadful...only DLO performs worse under this measure. I wholeheartedly recommend a review of the Wolves' on/off numbers on cleaning the glass...both overall and sorted by different lineup combos...they are quite astonishing and revealing, and I suspect new coach Finch is well-aware of them and hopefully will work them into his rotation analysis. I'll post them later today in a separate thread for discussion purposes.

Stop doing it. I have the ability to watch Nets games locally so I guess I'm helped by that, but the long layoff last year pretty cemented how easily I can go without this team. Apathy can be really fun. The Wolves are like the homeless guy on the street in the cold. You feel bad, but I'm probably not giving him money and in 15 seconds I'll forget about him and go about my day.

It takes you 15 seconds? Ha!

Homeless people sadden me and I live in a place where you see plenty of them.

This is a basketball board, wildwolf, but I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your measured and compassionate response to an insensitive comment. I have had the experience of working with the homeless in a volunteer capacity for many years, and am also saddened by them. I have learned that a large percentage of them are veterans who fought for our country, something I never did, and often are victims of PTSD that renders them incapable of functioning. I also pass them by and don't give them money because I unfortunately know it often won't be spent in a constructive way ( I do keep a stash of $5 McDonalds cards in my car, and the guys on the street corner are always appreciative when I hand them out...and I at least know my gift won't be used on booze or drugs), but I find other ways to try to improve their unfortunate condition. It's a real problem in our society, especially when you know the number of children that are sleeping out in the cold every night, and the homeless deserve our compassion rather than our ridicule and disdain.

OK, had to get that off my chest because it's been gnawing at me for a couple days. Now, back to basketball and our new coach!
