Denzell Valentine is making 43% of his 3's while taking 8 a game. Making over 50% on 2's and grabbing 7.7 boards a game. He looks like the makings of a steal to me in the second. Not sure if he makes the 1st round.

...He's going to be a late lottery pick. Might even sneak in the top-10 depending on what transpires from now til then.

Hope we get a top 7 pick as the draft seems to tail off a bit after the first 6 to 8 picks:
1. Simmons
2. Ingram
3. Dunn
4. Brown
5. LaBissiere (if he comes out)
6. Hield
7. Bender

He's short and not a great athlete.

Huh? He's at least 6'5 and plays SG.

I don't think he's fast enough to be a guard at the NBA level which makes him a short forward.

I didn't realize speed was the determining factor in what position a guy can play... Lot of guys past and present didn't get the memo.

He's a SG. His skills show that. He's not a weak defender either. And it doesn't hurt that in today's NBA, the SG/SF position is relatively the same.

It's a big factor in who you can defend, but whatever. Here's his scouting report on ESPN from December.

"Valentine doesn't check the normal boxes scouts are typically looking for in a wing. He lacks elite size and athleticism for the position. However, he has been a triple-double threat for the Spartans all season, and given the NBA's recent emphasis on versatility, he's drawing significant interest from scouts."

If the wolves somehow landed the number 1 pick. Would you be willing to trade that pick for Kristaps Porzingis?

Porzingis has become so popular with the knicks but ben simmons is just as marketable.

I will answer first and that is a yes for me. Porzingis is a perfect fit next to towns/wiggins/rubio and lavine core. He can impact the game on defense and he can be an impactr player on offense even without much plays runs for him.

I can tell you with great confidence that the last thing the Knicks will do is trade Porzingis.

Yeah, he's not Andrew Wiggins-sized or Zach LaVine athletic. There are a lot of guys that are average in both areas that make up for it in skills and/or mental game.

PS: Agility was the word you're looking for. Speed doesn't really mean anything for defense.

He's my favorite player in this draft. I wouldn't pick him top 5, but after that there arent many prospects I'd take based on future potential before him.

You are aware that agility is a type of speed? In fact I never even said the word speed, you did. I said he's not fast enough which covers everything including agility. And yes, more than just agility matters on defense.
