Say what you want, but when it pertains to the NBA Draft, I think of nbadraft.net as a super duper amateur site that piggybacks off of more credible sites, such as Draft Express, which I feel like is the very best draft site available. NBA Draft Net is often changing their mock for no reason, which I feel like is a sign of clickbait.

New Orleans appears headed for a win over the Lakers tonight so they'll probably finish with 30 or 31 wins. That means we'll have the 5th worst record at 29 wins even if we win 2 of our last 3 games. I don't see us beating Portland. So it looks like we'll probably pick 5th unless someone jumps over us in the lottery.

I am not happy with Houston. They lose to Phoenix and lost a key matchup with Dallas. They have stunk lately so that it is unlikely we get a second round pick. Houston has to win out and Dallas has to lose their games, plus Utah has to lose too. I've never heard of a team tanking to save a second rounder, but I wouldn't put it past them.

Some bigtime sleepers in the second round of DraftExpress's latest mock. McCaw at 37, Payton at 44 and Onuaku at 46. I'll be surprised if McCaw and Payton aren't picked earlier. I wish we had a few second rounders to grab a couple of these guys.

I'll be in the house Saturday night against the Blazers. Hopefully we can finally beat that team. In any event, I'll provide a game report in a 2+1 format by Sunday morning.

I'm getting the feeling we're eventually going to wind up with Jamal Murray falling in our laps somehow. I can't and wouldn't complain about that. Top-three in all likelihood will be Ingram, Simmons, and Bender in some order based on upside. Then there's the very real possibility of Dunn or Brown sneaking up after them with great combine/workout showings and impressive athletic ability.

I'm starting to go back and re-watch Kentucky games in their entirety to see more of Murray (first time around it's natural to watch him as well as Skal and Ulis, while enjoying the game). Offensively, he could really be something special in the NBA despite his limited physical profile. I really believe that.

That's pretty much the worst case scenario for us. I don't think Murray is a top 5 player and he's a bad fit for this team. He's the worst defender slated to go in the top ten picks and we need someone who can defend. The Big 2 and Hield, Dunn and Bender/Brown are all better options if we get a top 5 pick. I'd rather trade down for multiple first rounders over selecting Murray. After the Big 2 and next 3, the talent evens out so that a guy you draft at 7 may not be much more likely to succeed than a guy taken at 21.

Cam - I'd be interested in your thoughts about Murray after you've had the chance to re-watch the Kentucky games. I saw him play only twice this season and both times I was underwhelmed. But his stats are really impressive for a freshman.
