At some point even the Spurs can't overcome a lack of talent.
Yup. It's finally caught up to them after a few seasons now of getting older and key departures.

Losing Murray really hurt then they didn't even have his next man up replacement White for a while. Normally you wouldn't include a Rookie like Walker but the Spurs are pretty thin and he was a 1st round pick and they need guys. Gasol being out now really hurts their 2nd unit. He can do a little over everything. Marco Belinlli is shooting the ball poorly.
Name more than like 2 guys healthy and playing on that roster that are actually good defenders. Brynn Forbes can play but what I have seen is he isn't a good defender plus isn't a PG but has had tonplay there and he plays the 3rd most minutes on the team. It's rough man. They take and make only more 3's than the Cavs. I still think putting a hurt on them where we were up 45 at one point means something though. It's worried to say Thibs about Murray but his defense and ball handling would make a massive difference to this team making everyone better.

Teague for Ariza and a pick?
That pick would need to be a first-round selection for me to be interested in doing that and I really don't think the Suns bite. I'm not at all comfortable with leaving this team dependent on Rose and Jones going forward. Meanwhile this team has been just fine with their current rotation and even leaving Okogie out of the mix despite him being worthy of minutes.
It's too bad they don't need a center. I know a guy...

Once Houston finds a third team to get in on it... back there?
Keep in mind Ariza has a no trade clause. He can pick where he wants to go if he wants to. I don't know why in a lost season the Suns would make a move for Teague now although a legit PG would help their young guys. Tyus or someone younger sure (or some older cheap decent backup) but I don't see them wanting Teague. As for the deal other than the contract situation dealing Teague for another wing would be problematic for me. Tyus or Rose gets hurt and you have nobody I feel comfortable with as a guy playing valuable minutes as a shot creator/PG. Bayless if healthy might be able to fill in for a couple games but if anything this team could use another of those guys (just in terms of depth especially wirh Rose injury history) not trade one away.
