Can we pick "none of the above"? It seems like neither of these guys have developed into winning players yet. Such a shame, because the raw materials would make any coach or GM drool.

I agree that both players are flawed, but if forced to choose one, I have always put Wig ahead of Zach and backed Thibs on his choice to keep Wig over Zach. That said, I don't think this incident will or should sway opinion on the Zach/Wig discussion. I sense there is a lot we don't know about what is happening in Chicago right now so I would be cautious about condemning Zach until more is known. Probably ought to keep the discussion to their relative defensive/offensive performance.

Agree, and on that measure, both of these guys are grossly under performing their pay level.

I will say isn't the first time I have heard some negative reporting about Lavine's attitude which is unfortunate. There were reports of problems last year of both Lavine and Dunn. Regardless it's a little sad if it is true that he is taking the wrong approach at times. Hopefully this meeting where everyone got together gets that team on track. I'm not cheering for that team to become a dumpster fire...more than it already is. Unfortunately until they have some new leadership I'm not sure how it's going to work out too well.

The drama in Chicago didn't end when Thibs left or Jimmy or firing their hand picked guy Hoiberg. I'm certainly not saying Thibs had nothing to do with getting fired there and all that BUT that franchise has had all kinds of problems since he left. Maybe he should get at least SOME benefit of the doubt (should have to begin with but we have some more hindsight) of how things ended there. Meanwhile the bulls have a new coach that's basically a old School tough guy not too unlike Thibs. Kinda ironic.

The rumblings about Zach in college was always that he got benched partly because of attitude. His father was also a very vocal critic of his college coaches because he thought Zach should be a PG, which is hilarious considering the position debates here and the former efforts of coaches to force Zach to play team ball. Zach seemed to work hard, but I never thought he had a cerebral response in any aspect of his game that showed he understood team ball. I'm not at all surprised by this news.

This is a pretty funny article about Zach declaring for the NBA:

Lol, some bulls players went to the NBPA because he practiced too much.

"Players from the Chicago Bulls contacted the National Basketball Players Association about what they considered to be extreme tactics by Jim Boylen.

Boylen was elevated to head coach last week, but he's already had turmoil with his players.

Following a 56-point loss on the second night of a back-to-back, Boylen called for a Sunday practice.

Boylen held three two-and-a-half-hour practices in his first week that included extra wind sprints and players doing military-style pushups.

One of the veterans on the Bulls initiated a group text relaying that if any players showed up on Sunday prepared to practice, he would personally fine them, and the players agreed.

Boylen was altered to the plans and he refused to relent.

Robin Lopez was the leader of getting the players to back down and to merely show up on Sunday without the intention to practice.

Zach LaVine and Justin Holiday were the most vocal in expressing their issues with the practice.

Boylen has repeatedly referenced his experience with the San Antonio Spurs, and what he learned from Gregg Popovich."

Zach and Holiday, the new MJ and Pippen in Chicago. Calling the shots.

So...There are basically 2 guys I would consider vets on the entire Bulls Roster, Justin Holiday and Robin Lopez. So basically I'm reading this as Justin Holiday started a group text that said he would fine any player that came to practice? Anyone else get someone else that it could be? Regardless wow...if true. The coach would have to be doing some really ridiculous stuff to justify that.

It's also pretty amusing/sad that they went to the players union. Practice?!? Practice?!? :)

I think Lavine and Holiday are the vets. Lopez and Lauri wanted everyone to be professional.

I can only imagine what is going through the mind of Ryan Arcidiacono, a 4-year Villanova kid, national champion, and undrafted free agent that had to claw and scratch his way onto an NBA roster. I doubt he's complaining too much about doing some extra pushups.....
