Wouldn't it be fun in Andrew Wiggins wanted to beat Jimmy Butler that bad too?

Screw that. Wouldn't it be fun if he had this mentality with all the people talking poorly about him all the time? Just goes on a tear against all the teams, alas that will never be

Baby steps! LOL

Not a vintage performance by my Bucks tonight. They seemed to be a little off, much like they were at the end of the recently completed road trip. But they still managed to win comfortably. Of course it doesn't hurt when the other team has Thad Young on it. As the Pacers starting power forward he imposed his will by hauling in 2 rebounds in 33 minutes. But on the bright side he made 3 baskets too.

Thad Young is a plus offensive player... and plus defensive player.

He's not a huge scorer. And not a huge rebounder. But he's "solid" in many areas. Not quite certain why we're ripping him still.

This is the "Around the League" thread and he has former ties to the Wolves. Not that complicated.

No.

I was wondering why you're ripping a solid to decent to actually pretty good player.

Seems entirely misguided and myopic.

We can disagree on whether he's pretty good or not - spoiler alert - he's not. And I'm ripping him because he sucked for the Wolves and I haven't forgotten. But again, not a big deal or something to be a devil's advocate about.

I'm not surprised by your take. You thought Andrew Wiggins was "good" for multiple years because he was a super inefficient volume scorer who did nothing else.

So to rip on a guy who's pretty efficient shooting the ball but doesn't score much, and does a bunch of things to help teams win... seems consistent with that.

Even thought Young played below his normal standards for the Wolves, he was still overall a plus player. Maybe his poorer-than-average performance had something to do with being surrounded with bad teammates on a team that lost 66 games. He's a complementary player... not a star player... sometimes our inaccurate assumptions about what a player should be clouds our judgment.

A friend of mine texted that there was some chatter Via Slam magazine about a theoretical Durant vs McGrady 1 on 1 in their primes. My friend thought McGrady would have no chance and McGrady said he would and maybe would even win. McGrady was a very good player and people forget how good he was because of all the injuries. Looking back at their careers a fun stat was that Mcgrady in 2003-2004 averaged 7.7 three point attempts which was #2 in the league to Baron Davis who took over 10 a game. Durant's highest average per game was 6.7 in 2015-2016 his last year with OKC. I'd take Durant but a healthy McGrady was a very good player.

Funny how ABC gives us a admitted tanking Lakers team last night against the Celtics and Van Gundy ripping them the whole game. Kind of still want him as head coach.
