In need of a change of scenery
Re: In need of a change of scenery
Will Marquese Chriss even be in the league next year? The Suns packaged 2 first round picks to go up and get him. I wasn't a fan but i thought if you believed he was gonna be good it was a move that made sense. The Kings picked Georgios Papagiannis at #13 (still head scratching) and then got Skal at #28 which I thought was great value. Skal is now in Portland and despite them having a bunch of bigs who knows they seem to get something out of guys. Not a great draft for the Suns or the Kings that year. Man I was wrong on Bender although I think I've heard he played well enough this year to at least get another decent NBA contract. He turns 22 in November.
Re: In need of a change of scenery
Tyreke Evans is getting a mandatory change of scenery...not playing in the NBA for at least 2 years.

Not surprised, but sad.

There are reports the Knicks are ready to move Frank Ntilikina. Anyone interested?

Frank Kaminsky needs a change of scenery.

I might be interested. But he question is who we'd have to give up to get him. I'm not giving up Okogie or KBD for him.

If you believe the report I read the Knicks are looking to get a last first or a good 2nd round pick for him. Part of the angle in getting some cap space to move him as he makes almost 5 million this year and if you pick up the option over 6 million next year. That salary give me a lot of pause even though I do still kinda like him. Let's say we could get him for #43. That's a shot at a player and $4 million in money you could use on a player. What young moderately interesting player could you get for a 2 year 10-11 million dollar deal? A team with more room financially might be more interested in taking him on if he is still intriguing. Teams might be willing to wait and see if the Knocks get desperate if Durant+1 actually happens and the Knicks HAVE to move him or someone else. Maybe you get him for nothing or maybe they even pay you to take him. This offseason is gonna be interesting and ai hope the Wolves get creative and see if they can find/sign some young worthwhile guys for cheap. The Kicks got Vonleh last offseason for peanuts and it sounds like he had a solid season and would likely be a solid rotation player who turns 24 in August and is a FA. The Knicks kinda like the Lakers have actually done well around the margins finding some worthwhile players in later rounds etc. hopefully we can start doing that for basically the first time in franchise history. Lol

We don't have the cap space to absorb guys and the only cap savings we can offer are minimal because we would have to be within a percentage of Frank's salary. If they are looking for a salary dump we simply can't facilitate that unless a third team gets involved.

Good point.
For adding other players we do have the Justin Patton trade exception worth around 2.6 million which might help with a waiver claim if anyone cuts someone making a little more than the vet min etc. Not exactly getting my hopes up tho obviously. Lol
