Denver and Toronto have done tremendous job to find good and at least useful players with low picks or even among undrafted players.

On the perimeter, the guy that came up big for them was the legendary Malik Beasley. Amazing how teams like Denver can keep uncovering wings that can shoot year after year, yet we have like three total in franchise history.

I agree completely that KAT can be our go-to offensive player in crunch time. He's actually a more potent scorer than Jokic.

Here's the thing about Malik Beasley. His one season in college he shot 47% from the field and 38.7% from behind the arc. Uncovering wings who can shoot starts with drafting wings who shot well in college. The Nuggets drafted Beasley at #19. Good NBA organizations are good at spotting and acquiring talent.

Josh Okogie shot 38% on 173 college 3s taken and 80% from the line, yet he dons a T-Wolves uniform and suddenly looks like Andre Roberson. If he played for the Spurs he'd be making 38% of his 3s right now, I guarantee it!

Nobody is suggesting that it's impossible. Or shouldn't be tried more often.

Only that it's more difficult. You need to do multiple things to get the ball to your best player in the post... vs. just handing the ball to your best player 93 feet from the basket.

And with all the handchecking and pushing and shoving allowed in the post... vs. your best player going downhill out in the open court where less pushing and shoving is allowed...

One is simply easier than the other...

Agree, ideally we'd have a Giannis or Doncic or Lillard to build around, but we don't. We have KAT. Denver has Jokic. Philly has Embiid. It can be done.

Also, KAT is proving to be pretty effective getting the ball at the mid-post right block too and facing up. It doesn't all have to be grinding out positioning within 8 feet of the rim.

The DSJ idea is tempting because he at least shows the potential for being a dynamic perimeter scorer/playmaker, whereas we don't have anyone like that now and we eventually need one that is a clear #2 to KAT.

How does Jimmy Butler need to see a specialist (in LA?) a few days ago for his wrist, and now he is ready to play tonight?

Q I hope we have a better example of a big being a stud than Denver winning against a floundering Memphis team and scoring less than 100 points...with Kyle Anderson looking like he forgot how to shoot a basketball during a late possession. Lol We need talent. Imagine if Denver had gotten something more compelling for Nurkic from the Blazers. If Michael Porter Jr is able to be healthy AND is actually good well...um...yikes.

I'll say this I was wrong about the Nuggets. They are much better than what I thought they would be. I was right in how I thought they would be better though. It's really their young guys being good it's not them getting better in the offseason that some pundits seemed to suggest. Nobody new to their roster this season has even played 50 total minutes. Millsap has missed a handful of games but also is playing fewer minutes. Juancho H. looks like he has been a pretty valuable player for them. T. Craig has started 37 games and Barton has only played 10 total games. I thought Mike Malone was probably a good coach but the early returns didn't seem to favorable. Things are looking great in Denver now all around.

Remember those cute little threads (and lopsided polls) about whether the Wolves were better positioned for the future than (1) Milwaukee and then (2) Denver?

Ummmm... so... errr.... ummmm... yeah.

Milwaukee - 35 - 13
Denver - 34 - 15
Minnesota - 24 - 26

We're all either 2 years in... or 30 years in... on this franchise. I guess it's a good sign we're STILL so eagerly hoodwinked by misguided optimism?

Okafor continuing to play well. Houston has no one that can handle him in the paint. Good to see. While I was extremely relieved when Flip picked KAT over Jahil, I still love his old school post game. Good to see him having some success.
