We have a thread for Wolves trade speculation, but I thought I'd start a thread reserved solely for specific hypothetical trades the Wolves might make or should propose to acquire an impact big. I'll start the ball rolling with the following:
WOLVES TRADE WITH PACERS:
- Wolves Get: Myles Turner
- Pacers Get: Juancho + Culver + Layman + Wolves 2023 1st (top 10 protected) + Wolves 2022 2nd + Wiz 2022 2nd
Why would the Pacers do this deal? The Pacers are clearly looking to move on from Turner. He hasn't meshed well with Sabonis. They have Goga Bitadze and Oshae Brissett and just traded to acquire the talented rookie, Isaiah Jackson. Juancho would give them a young 7 footer who can stretch the floor. Culver would give them a defensive guard/wing off the bench behind their talented starting backcourt of Brogdon and LeVert, but also the upside of a recent consensus top 6 pick. Layman is a solid wing off the bench. All three have very team-friendly contracts. Juancho and Culver can be cleared from the payroll after next season to open up significant additional cap room. The Wolves 10-protected 1st in 2023 has substantial value. At least one of the two 2nd round picks will likely be in the top half, which has significant value. All of that seems like a reasonable haul for a very good big with durability issues who will likely miss the first month or two of the season recovering from toe surgery.
Hypothetical Wolves Trade Thread
Re: Hypothetical Wolves Trade Thread
I to wish to acquire Miles Turner. But Lip I think they hang up the phone. They do say that one mans junk is another mans treasure, but in this case it's unlikely the Pacers front office would see Juancho, Jarret and Layman as treasure!
I think it would take:
Malik Beasley and Naz Reid
For
Miles Turner and Kelan Martin
On the fence whether I'd do that, but that's what I think the Pacers would want as a minimum. Even then they have a glut of back court players so might not value Beasley as high as we think.

Exactly.
Hernangomez, Layman and Culver struggled to find consistent rotation minutes on one of the league's WORST teams... barring injuries last season, Indiana has been a playoff team for years. There's no way any of those players from the Wolves make the Pacers rotation.

Lol. Have to agree with you, Matt. I think Beasley would probably need to be included and I think your hypothetical is realistic. But I had to put it out there.
