Vanterpool and Gates out

Finch making his own staff. Not a huge surprise. Also, in my mind there was nothing of note that either of these assistants provided that was tangible beyond players seeming to like Vanterpool. Not sure if that was just a personality thing or if it was indication of anything more. Vanterpool from my understanding was supposed to be a defensive specialist, so either we have the dumbest players in the league (very possible) or he's not very effective at communicating and executing his defensive strategy (also very possible).

Hard to argue. I agree with you that Vanterpool didn't have great material to work with though.

Do think it is interesting the Pablo Priginoni was not mentioned as not coming back. Is he going to coach the next Argentina superstar in Bolmaro? Haha

I sure hope Priginoni stays. He coached our Summer League squad two years ago. We sat court-side right behind the Wolves bench for most of those games. He was impressive. We loved how he related to players and how engaged he was. He has charisma and really captured the attention of his players. He also didn't shy away from sitting players who weren't competing the way he thought they should. His Argentinian roots can't hurt with Bolmaro coming here next season.

I'm not sure what to think of Vanterpool. I'm not surprised they're being let go. Finch has to have the leeway to pick his own staff and there's nothing in Vanterpool's time here that would suggest he's anything special. Then again, he was in a tough spot with Ryan as head coach, key injuries and a lack of defensive talent.

Pablo has been recruiting various international players to come here. I remember him wanting Campazzo here and while he isn't amazing he looks like he would have been a solid relatively cheap addition as a backup PG. I wondered if they would keep him I think he is good with guards helping to develop them. He and Finch MIGHT team up to be really good in that area.

Vanterpool...honestly I wonder if he may have wanted to go somewhere else with how everything played out or even if he didn't that's better for him. It didn't seem to work out for him here and he won't have a hard time finding another job.

Gates...I like the guy but it's fine they are moving on from him. I think it will be good to bring in some new guys to the staff.

If Vanterpool is going to the nets as assistant.

This is probably as political as I'll ever get on this board.

Are the wolves still racist for not hiring this guy as there head coach? Isn't there 8 other head coaching job openings?

Wonder why Billups got the job instead of him in Portland. I thought him and Lillard were best buds.

Remember when Rachel Nichols did a whole tabloid piece on this. How's that working out for you now Rachel Nichols? Oh the irony lol

Sorry rant over on woke culture.
