That Jaylen Nowell kid is pretty good. Maybe he should play more even when everyone is healthy. Just an idea. I don't know.

This last month has really made me think the Wolves should be looking at a DLO trade this offseason if he won't take a pay cut.
He just no shows way to much on scoring the ball to feel like paying him the money he is making
You're not wrong in that he's been struggling of late, but this is a knee jerk reaction. Pretty much ignoring the fact that Minnesota isn't in the position they're in without him.
And if you plan to let him go or trade him, you better have someone equal or better to replace him with. Good luck.
I have liked Dlo play this year no doubt, he has been good but for what the Wolves are paying him and what they will more likely have to pay him going forward I think it is a legit question on what to do for him. Now if Dlo wants a 5 year 100 Million dollar contract sign me up. But if he want to be paid similar to what he is getting now or more, I have my serious doubts on Dlo consistency and injury concerns.
Just worried long term with Dlo consistency to make the Wolves a legit contender or multiple round winner.
We can argue the validity of this trade conversation, and I vehemently disagree, but here's one question and if you can't answer it then we're done here.
Who are you replacing D'Angelo Russell with at point guard that is objectively better? And are they even available? If you can't answer that, then this is nothing.
You never know what players become available, I mean who would of ever guessed that Haliburton would of been traded in year 2. So obviously who knows what is out there.
I want to say it once again I have liked Dlo play for the most part during this season. But he is shooting 38% from the field and 31% from 3 in losses this year (What will go down again after today). He has no showed these last 10 games of the year when they need him the most. (He might be hurt, what I understand). It just comes down to the money to me, if he wants to get paid like he is getting paid I think the discussion needs to be had because he has no showed in way to many game to be getting max money (Once again that does not mean he is a bad player or not an impactful player)

Kek, respectfully, you're pounding the table about a rough 10 games for one guy when the team went 6-4 with some solid competition mixed in during that stretch. It's not the end of the world. We know D'Angelo Russell is streaky, but he's also been imperative to the team's success this season. He was also scorching hot from January to mid-March. Relax.
Worst-case scenario is Minnesota doesn't extend him this summer and they play out the final year of his deal and re-evaluate. The trade talk is off base, in my opinion, unless you have some sort of plan to upgrade the position. And like I said, good luck.

Massive disappointment after a huge win over Dallas. This needs to be the last of those.

I dont think its totally off base. I think the general point of Dlo needing to take a paycut in an extension is fair. If he is unwilling to do that I would rather the team look at a trade then let him walk.
Re: GDT: Minnesota at Boston
Well, what we've learned so far in this stretch of tougher games is that it appears that our record and seed in the West is....about right. We get easily handled by Phoenix and a surging Boston team and lose to Dallas on the road, but beat them at home. Seems about right. We are a good team, but still a pretty big step away from being great.

Nobody's arguing for D-Lo to get the max here. I think it's pretty understood that he's not going to get that, but his agents will try before getting denied and beginning real negotiations. And if they're unable to find an acceptable deal on both sides Minnesota will have him play out his final year and re-evaluate with more data.
What is ridiculous to me is that it's been 10 uncharacteristically rough games for the guy after being on fire for months and we're having this conversation now. Where were these concerns over the last 20-25 games when he was cooking? Like I said, it just feels like a knee jerk reaction. Prisoner of the moment shit. Everyone needs to relax.

The Timberwolves have won 37 of the 61 games (.607) D'Angelo Russell's played this season so far. In those 37 wins he's averaging 19.0 PPG (.571 TS%), 7.3 APG (2.7 TOV), 3.5 RPG with a positive 16.3 plus-minus, according to Basketball Reference, for those that enjoy that metric. That essentially means that D-Lo is a very significant contributor to this team's success. When he's good, they win. He's a straw that stirs the drink.
Prior to tonight's game, he was 12th in the league in assist percentage and 10th in assists per game among qualified players. He's also just one of nine players in the entire NBA that average at least 18.0 PPG and 7.0 APG. His ability to score AND facilitate alongside two other volume scorers in Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards has been fantastic. They need the versatility he brings and likely wouldn't have had the success in the win/loss column they've had without him. They also wouldn't have one of the league's top offenses since January.
Russell played like shit tonight. That's quite clear. He's also in the midst of a pretty brutal 10-game stretch for him. Whether he's playing through injury or not is unknown, but there's no excuse as long as he's suiting up. He has to be better, but he's also been a key cog this year. If you move him, then you better have a plan to actually get better doing so or else you are at risk of taking a major step backwards. I don't think we can afford to do that.
