Just saw ESPN article on the new rules instituted to stop the "James Harden" type fouls. I love the rule.....and I loved big fat James Harden finally not being given those bogus calls where he jumps into guys, or hooks guys arms, etc. While this will certainly impact guards all around the league, it is the correct call when assessing fouls. The fact that players have essentially "changed" the NBA rules over time via this behavior is ridiculous.
I haven't seen any games thus far. Has anyone noticed a change in how the Wolves games are called? Not sure they really have players that I would consider have this "skillset", so maybe not a huge deal for us. Thoughts?
New rules thread.

Beverley got called for the "weave in front of bigger player jogging down court" and falling over gimmick.
Funny thing though is that Ricky Rubio got called for it last year... arguably the ONLY guy to be called for that in 20+ years.

And to Beverly's credit he agreed with the call.
Between the Wolves preseason games and the regular season games they are definitely calling some of these fouls. Some of them have even gone the Wolves way. You can't just pump fake and jump into a guy anymore. Idk if this will hold up over the season but it's nice to see so far. Drawing contact is part of the game but it had gotten out of hand.

It seems to me that other than James Harden and Trae Young - two of the most prodigious offenders of the unnatural shot motions - everyone else is seemingly gushing over the rule changes. This should have been done many seasons ago, but better late than never.

Harden is an incredibly smart player. He'll adjust... and maybe sooner than we expected.
He took 19 free throws last game.
[Note: The Wolves haven't reached 19 fta in 3 of the 5 games as a team.]
