Timberwolves News and Rumors

Post by Lipoli390 »

Thought I'd start a thread devoted to generals Wolves news and rumors.

Here's the latest news: The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has assigned guard Leandro Bolmaro to the Iowa Wolves, the team's NBA G League affiliate. 8 hours ago - via Timberwolves PR @ NBA.com. McKinley Wright was also sent to Iowa.

No recent news or rumors regarding the Wolves and Ben Simmons.

Bolmaro playing for Iowa should be fun. Guards won't enjoy playing them with Wright Miller and Bolmoro all playing minutes there.

Ruot Monyyong is a guy in Iowa of the new players I'm curious to see what if anything is there with him.

I hadn't heard of Ruot until I read your post. So I just checked out his stats and some highlight videos. He's listed at 6'10, but looks really long and rail thin. He also looks quick and appears to have really good hands. Someone intriguing to watch.

The competition he sees in the G-League should largely be inferior to what he saw on a regular basis over the last two years in Spain. Yes, there is some NBA-level raw talent in the G-League these days, but in terms of overall player experience, organization, and coaching, I don't think it's even close to Liga ACB or Euroleague.

I'm very interested in seeing how he performs down there. I don't have much hope for Wright or Miller.

Minnesota released their City Edition uniforms and I have to say that I love them. They check all the boxes for me. Modern, but plenty of retro aspects. It probably won't happen, but these should be the new primary uniforms with home/away/alternate designs.

I can't disagree with you. If I was able to choose, it would be those, the original royal blue, and purple haze. Nothing else.

I think I'm in the minority. I really don't like the werewolf font. At least it only says Wolves now instead of Timberwolves so it isn't as busy.

The light blue MSP jerseys and the Prince jerseys are tops for me. I also like that the Aurora green is a different color scheme from all the other blues and greens out there.

I'll get on board with any uniform that the team can consistently win in though.

I absolutely loved the "Purple Reign" Prince-inspired uniforms. I hated last year's "North Star City" and light blue "MSP" uniforms. They lacked creativity to me. I'm also pretty indifferent to the all-gray wolf pack uniforms from years ago. These new ones might be my second favorite in franchise history behind everyone's favorite classic black with trees during the glory days.

When did the team make a concerted effort to push toward "Wolves" instead of "Timberwolves."

Feels like it's been in the works for awhile.

[Note: Anybody remember the Norm Greene saga? He very deliberately made a big, structured push to drop "North" from the North Stars... a couple years prior to the move south to Dallas. Not saying the two are related... ]
