Hot take over reaction thread

Post by BloopOracle »

-Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell are starting to have friction during
on court interactions during stoppages.

-Anthony knows that he is already better than Russell and is starting to get impatient being the third banana.

-He is not a fan of the big three taking turns playing isolation ball, you can see the frustration on his face when he was trying to pass the ball the first half (admittedly a bit too much).

-Anthony and Patrick Beverly are both sick of Towns throwing temper tantrums, and are likely also annoyed that he and Russell like to pull their jerseys up over their mouths and sarcastically bitch.

-Gupta will be offering Russell to the Sixers by the tread deadline, and KAT will throw a hissy fit whether he gets traded or not.

-KAT will eventually give hints this off-season that he would like to leave even if we make the play in but lose.

-KAT will never be a championship center and if he starts to get antsy we should immediately work on getting him out and build around Edwards

Ouch, I hadn't observed your first hot take because I haven't attended any games yet. Have our in-person attendees noticed this(closed circuit to jester and Lip)? The rest of the hot takes seem quite plausible to me, and could disrupt the camaraderie most of us have observed during the early part of this season. Winning heals a lot of wounds, and we did win our 4 preseason games plus our first two regular season games. There are some fiery personalities on this team, and it will be interesting to see if the love fest continues if (when?) we start losing more regularly.

Remember, KAT has a solid relationship with Simmons as well as DLo- they go way back. And he also has to be tired of losing. So I suspect he would be just fine if Gupta were able to pry Simmons loose from Philly for DLo. And if Gupta offers DLo for Simmons and is turned down (maybe this has already happened, I don't know), I don't think DLo or KAT will ever know about it for sure. So that hot take doesn't concern me.

Those others, though...

Idk lip correct me if I'm wrong. Last night If anything I saw the opposite last night it was KAT was on DLO a lot. Especially when KAT had that turnover late in the game when DLO wasn't looking on the Wing.

Beverley literally got that tech to protect Towns from JoVal and he did nothing but try to teach the whole night.

I think what the big problem and I got to see up close and personal is how Non athletic of guard DLO is. He can't blow by anyone like Edwards can and this why he needs to be 3rd Banana because if his 3pt shot is not dropping he's just not effective scorer.

I also can't tell you how impressed I was with JoVal the way he play old man post offense and defense is a treat to watch.

The title certainly matches the content of this thread. That much is true!

How about this for a hot take, the Wolves never make the playoffs with KAT and DLO on the team. One of them has to go, and maybe both of them. Their contracts are too big for a team to build around. Trade DLO and McDaniels for Simmons. Trade KAT for Cam Reddish, Kevin Huerter, Clint Capela, two 2022 first-round picks, one 2023 first-round pick, and a 2023 second-round pick.
ANT becomes the de facto lead dog.

The real Glen Taylor has been taken over by an animatronic Glen Taylor built by Marc Lore.

This team is really missing Ricky Rubio right about now...

Based on how Rubio has started the year with Cleveland and this team's inability to get into good sets with ball movement, he and Beverley sharing PG duties doesn't sound so bad!

LOL-with Ricky sitting at a mere 28 more expected wins on Cleaning the Glass than DLo right now, I actually didn't pick up that Cam was being sarcastic at first. It would be fun to see Ricky getting open looks for Ant and KAT.

Seriously though, I was one of the biggest Rubio supporters on the board last season, and the more I watch Taurean Prince, the more I'm warming to the trade- I like his game a lot, and am buying into the narrative that he's been hampered by injuries in previous years. I hated the deal until we got PatBev and still would if we hadn't, but it looks alright right now with 3 healthy PGs on our roster.

What I'm pissed about is that Rubio seemed to do great the season before with Phoenix and he's off to a decent start this season with Cleveland. But OF COURSE he had to play like shit in the year between with us. He did round into better form as the season wore on, but it was too little, too late by then....
