Reason # 274 why we need a legit big: Screen setting.
Little known stat over the last few years....the Wolves are perennially in the bottom 5 or 6 in percentage of 3's taken from the corner, which is the shortest distance for 3s. Why is it that? I believe a lot of it has to do with a lack of strong screens set in the high pick and roll and in turn a lack of hard rolls to the hoop. It's yet another reason why KAT should be a starting 4 along side a legit wide-body 5. KAT is a horrible screen setter and almost never rolls hard. Naz is a bit better, but then after those two you have beanpoles McDaniels and Vanderbilt setting screens. Not hard to navigate around this bunch.
This is an underrated reason why our offense has struggled IMO.

KAT should be a 4 or even a very big 3, not a 5. Even at Kentucky, KAT had WCS to protect the rim.

Is there a true 5 that is on the trading block currently in the NBA? If KAT sticks around Minnesota, and I am all for trading him if the return is right, would it improve the team playing him at the 4 spot? I wouldn't mind seeing something like that on the court.

Could you imagine when this thread becomes "wolves are low key WCF contenders"?

No, that is unimaginable.

The Wolves are much like the Vikings right now...just trying to be good enough.
