I'm sure there will be zero ownership on his part.

To be honest I actually found myself feeling bad for him during the interview. Very apparent he feels like a victim not getting the respect from refs. So easy to see it's eating him up inside. Mentally he seems like a mess right now. He's so in his own head right now, I don't know how or see it changing anytime soon.

Youngest players in NBA history with a 45/5/5 game:

20y, 52d -- Brandon Jennings
20y, 80d -- LeBron James
20y, 97d -- Anthony Edwards

This was Edwards' third 40-point game. The only players with more 40-point games before turning 21 are LeBron James (eight), Luka Doncic (four) and Kevin Durant (four).

Edwards won't be 21 until August...

Kneejerk reactionary alert:

Somebody mentioned there will be a blowup between Towns and Edwards. I think I agree.

- Towns has looked lost or disinterested or defeated at points this season... and that includes yesterday. Strange performance.
- Edwards played with so much more energy as he attacked the hoop AND hit three pointers. 48 points is legit. 48 points is incredible. 48 points gives us many, many reasons to be excited.

____________

Edwards might have the stickiest hands in the league right now. He actively looked off the game's best shooting big man (shooting 47% on three pointers) multiple times IN A ROW last night in the 3rd quarter. Towns was wide open. Instead, Edwards dribbled, dribbled, dribbled and attacked... or kicked to Russell.

Now, was this a chicken or egg thing? Was Edwards doing that because he could tell Towns was "meh" and seemingly uninterested in competing? Or, did Towns grow increasingly frustrated and broken because of the sticky fingered success of his teammate?

____________

Right now, I think we're all down on Towns so why would we care after Edwards scored 48. And that's probably not the wrong take.

But we've seen this franchise reward young players over and over again even if they weren't playing winning hoops or the right way... excusing it for "youth."

Personally, I'm worried about giving the keys to the castle to an unabashed gunner who doesn't move the ball. BUT... nothing else has worked for this franchise. And Edwards is uniquely/supremely/entertainingly talented. And Towns is very meh.

There could be worse things than a sticky-fingered mercurial scorer. Heck, he's surpassing ALL of our expectations already. But I'm hoping somebody can reach him at some point about moving the ball. It's better basketball and a better watch.

Sticky fingers isn't a bad thing when he is on the floor with V8, Okogie, et al. But he did have some great pocket passes and interior passes that lead to only 5 assists. But how many bunnies can people miss at the rim before the best player on the team says "screw it" and takes charge? Looked a lot like early Jordan Era Bulls. Not saying Ant is Jordan, but him taking over the game looked pretty familiar to me.

Yeah. Not great timing on my part. Because again... Edwards was awesome.

Maybe the issue is alleviated by better teammates. We just don't know yet.

I don't think anyone thought we would win this one, so a 13 point loss doesn't seem bad on the surface. But something tells me it would have been a 25-point loss if Green hadn't gotten hurt. The game totally changed for a brief time after he went out, and DLo even had his 4 "Jamal Crawford" minutes to pull us within 6. Some thoughts:

1) Even if this turns out to be a 25-win season, and it certainly looks like it now, it's going to be fun to watch Ant continue his development. There will be more games like this one this season.

2) Although he doesn't do much else well, Vando is an extraordinary offensive rebounder. 5 on 18 minutes and at least 3-4 other times he kept possessions alive without getting the rebound. That's how you end up a +4 without really doing much else well.

3) Except for some solid on-ball defense by PatBev, I saw no difference from last season...this is a bad defensive team. Andrew Wiggins would be a perennial all star if he had DLo and Beasley on him every night. Curry targeted them early until Finch was smart enough to move Ant over to Wig. Early defensive success against hapless Houston and Zion-less New Orleans was what I thought it was...fool's gold.

4) Comments on this board about KAT being checked out are spot on. He's still a far better defender than Naz and a great 3-point shooter, but something is off. My hope is that we get some 25-12 games out of him to build up his value, and then move him...the sooner the better. I have the same thoughts about DLo, although his body language is better than KAT's...he's just not a winner.

5) So, we're now 3-7 with 6 losses in a row and 3 tough games in the next few days. I think we're looking at 3-10 going into the Kings game. More dreams of Chet Holmgren.

I think Finch needs to go Gene Hackman in Hoosiers off on the refs a couple games to show he has KATs back. Just telling KAT to be the bigger man isn't working.

After the terrible start to the year the Wolves still just 1 game back of the play in game.

Just need Kat to snap out of whatever he is going through because he is still by far the most talented player on the wolves roster
