Daniel Oturu cut

Homeboy got cut. It would be nice if the Wolves could get him on their G League roster and see if they can develop him.

He sucks. He sucked in college and he sucked in the pros. Not surprised at all.

I'd love to suck as bad as he did his sophomore year with the gophers putting up 20-11.

Also not surprised he got cut. I think he does have potential to be a worthwhile backup C in the league. There are a lot of guys like that though so it's gonna be tough for him to stick.

He was technically originally drafted by the Wolves.

Why do you think he sucked in college. Him and Carr carried that team his sophomore year

Quite surprising that he hasn't been able to get any traction in the pros. Terrific 2-way player in college with good size. Nice inside game, but can also shoot...71% on free throws and 36.5% on threes (albeit only 1.7 attempts per game). And of course a good rim protector with 2.5 blocks per game his soph year. But there just weren't any canter minutes with Zubac, Ibaka and Cousins. He'll land somewhere on a team that needs a backup center and get his 5-20 minutes, and I think he'll be fine. Talented, big, hardworking and a great guy...what's not to like?

I think there is a good chance he ends up signed to a 2-way contract if the right team has an opening. He might be ok with that since I think he contract was already guaranteed for this year. I don't think there are a lot of NBA roster spots available and there are going to be even more guys cut so teams will have options.

Meanwhile Memphis currently has 3 players on their roster selected after Oturu in the 2020 draft. Tillman, Merrill and Tillie (undrafted and signed to a 2-way deal).
