On September 22, 2001, weeks before the NBA season was to begin... the Timberwolves abruptly fired the team's President of Basketball Operations after only two years on the job. Odd timing. And unfortunate and embarrassing as details behind the decision were announced. But that's not the most Timberwolves-ian part of the clownshow.

In the team's press release... they misspelled the team's name.

"Today, the Minnesota Timberwovles parted ways with President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas. As an organization, we remain committed to building a winning team that our fans and city can be proud of."

Now that's Timberwovles basketball baby!
