Yes!!! Thanks, Monster! You made my day. I hadn't heard that. He's the answer. Sign EJ and jump on his back as he carries the Wolves into the NBA finals. :)

I did go watch some ONU highlights which I should have done earlier. After watching those I'm like how did this guy only play in NAIA?!? One thing that's kinda surprising in a bad way is his rebounding numbers. Basically 8 rebounds a game? Wut? A few years ago my cousin played on a team against some of those schools. I know talent is everywhere (one of the guys my cousins played with I think plays in Europe somewhere) but EJ's size length and athleticism the rebounding numbers are kinda low. Still the guy is clearly a slightly lesser version of Giannis but with a better jumper. Like you said we don't need Simmons. :)

Alize Johnson signed a two-year deal with the Bulls for $3.6-million deal at the minimum. This doesn't directly impact Minnesota, obviously, but Johnson was a player I had mentioned not too long ago as a waiver target and then he was brought up again recently as someone intriguing should the Wolves have an extra spot.

I may have overestimated my prediction for what Jarred Vanderbilt will sign for. I felt good about a deal around three-year, $12-million total, but I'm now thinking it might be less than that.

I'm happy for Alize that's good opportunity there in Chicago. He has a chance to be the backup PF there or at least get some rotation minutes.

I think the more time passes without Vanderbilt signing (assuming there is no other reasons he hasn't signed yet like a possible trade) the more likely it is he plays for the qualifying offer. That is risky for him but if Vanderbilt believes in himself and he can back it up he could be the starting PF for this team and after this season earn himself a nice contract from either the Wolves or another team.

Marc Gasol will not return to the Lakers next season. He's about to be 37-years old. Is there any juice left? Where does he play this season?

Yep, I agree Cam. I like both Johnson and Vando for similar reasons, but I suspect this lessens Vando's bargaining position a little. I'm now more confident we'll sign Vando on a team-friendly contract. This is good news.

Yep. I always thought Cam's 3 yrs/$12M was on the high side. I'm thinking 3 yrs/$10M at most. The money and roster spots just aren't out there to bid up Vanderbilt's price. I continue to believe that the only reason Rosas hasn't signed Vando yet is to preserve salary and roster flexibility for a potential Simmons deal. It's the same reason they haven't yet signed Bolmaro. In fact, there's no other credible reason for not yet signing Bolmaro. He was recently in town and might still be here. And there's nothing to negotiate since his contract is subject to the rookie scale under the CBA. It's more evidence that Rosas really intent on trying to pull off a deal for Simmons.

Leandro Bolmaro and his camp still have to work out a buyout with his team overseas and that could be a reason for the delay.

Additionally, Darren Wolfson replied to a fan on Twitter that one of Jarred Vanderbilt or Jordan McLaughlin were close to an agreement on terms but were working through the bonuses included in the contract. He didn't make it clear who, though.
