That's a fair deal for Aaron Gordon, I think. I wouldn't want the Wolves paying him that, but I think it's fair. Good on Denver for locking him up after trading for him.

It might be fair but if that's the going rate...it makes the money Simmons is making look just fine to me. With his flaws (both guys have some) I'd much rather have Simmons for about 10 million more than Gordon in terms of the value he brings to a team. Like you said I'm glad the Wolves aren't paying him and I'm glad we didn't trade for him then have to pay him that money to keep him.

Gordon's deal also shows how the league is valuing starting level PFs. I think Portland did so well in getting Nance for basically just first round pick (he costs about 20 million the next 2 seasons) and they were able to move Jones Jr who was overpaid. In that one move they also may have gotten better defensively as Nance may help them there while also moving Covington to SF. Nance isn't the biggest guy but that still gives them some size in the frontcourt.
