It was a Sign and Trade. Using our trade exemption from the saric trade. Another Vanderpool guy.

Also is the 1st time the wolves actually used a trade exemption

Didn't know anything about Layman previous to the signing. But seems like a decent signing for a versatile player. Has a 8' 6" standing reach and 40" max vertical which allows him to finish at a high rate around the rim. Streaky and improving shooter from 3 point land.

He has been great so far here in Portland. Plays big, can really shoot the 3 but was behind a busy SF lineup of Aminu, Harkness and Evan Turner in rotation. I'm stoked to see him play cause he is a shooter, can play above the rim also. Solid signing.

I've loved our fringe signings. He is a freak athlete I believe. Super cheap and we actually used the trade exemption

Anyone smell rosas still trying to get culver for garland?

There just isn't going to be enough playing time on the wings.

Okogie, wiggs, culver, cov, and now layman signs a 3 year deal.

Wolves are really going all in on this younger player thing. Interestingly they did this sign and trade and therefor still can spend the full mid level if they want to. I watched some Layman video yesterday. He seems like a guy with a few skills plays hard and has some physical tools. He is locked in pretty cheap.

Dane Moore had him in his wing targets for the Wolves.

I like our squad. Athletic, versatile , deep, and still young.

I remember liking that guy when I saw him against us last year I guess it was. Active, attacks the rim. Saw him make a couple passes. Nice dunker. Maybe he can teach Wiggins how to throw it down. Can he shoot it from outside and defend though?

Whoa, he's listed as 6'9"? I thought he looked smaller than that.
