Yeah, I don't think we missed out on anything all that special. It was worth a shot but in the end I can live with the outcome.

Ia it possible we were not offering quite the max and the warriors did and dlo went for the money. Read Rosas never got green light from dlo and all of a sudden the nets wolves deal popped up. Now i hear the warriors would want culver or roco and a 1st to get russell? If russell chose the warriors let him go. Move on to moving wiggins out of here.

They can have Wiggins and a future 2nd. That's my final offer. They wouldn't get Culver or RoCo much less either one plus a future 1st from me. They signed him. They can keep him. Put him in the backcourt with Curry and see how that goes on the defensive end.

Time to move on. It's time for Rosas to put his words into action. He said the Wolves need to build through the draft. He said the organization will be all about player development. He rejected multiple potential deals in favor of drafting Culver. So let's see where this goes. If just one of the Okogie or Culver becomes an allstar caliber player in the next couple years, then we'll be on the right track. If not, we won't unless we draft a future allstar next June with what will likely be a lottery pick.

Reading between the lines a bit here....

Wolves twitter... free agency starts now we cant tell you anything til july 6th.

Kat and Dlo at party in la together and kats post.

Wiggins taking all his wolves stuff off his page.

Russell only visited wolves and didnt visit warriors. Also no warriors players tweeted anything about russell.

Russell seems like a terrible fit for warriors.

Could it be a wiggins to gs deal dlo to us? Still feels eery and maybe im just hoping too much but this seems a little weird to be a coincidence. Also kats gotta know whats going on. Am i losing it?

Given your handle, I'd say yes, you've lost it.

I am not sure what is going on with the deal - I have not seen Russel come out on any of his accounts talking about joining GS. The deal isn't done and there are odd things about what is materializing - why on earth would the Timberwolves be getting ANYthing in GS/Brk sign and trade - no reason at all.

They are sending us two players that they could just release AND cash - why on earth are they sending US cash.

There is not a single thing that makes ANY sense in this deal. GS is way overpaying for Russel (Lip, does this make GS a poorly run org?) - they are giving up a 1st to trade their star 6th man to make space for him and will likely lose their young 2nd guy off the bench. Then they are giving up another 1st to do the sign and trade.

By trading away all those assets, on top of Russel being redundant - GS people are freaking out about him playing SG next to Curry - both are not good defenders. More importantly, Russel's value came from having the ball in his hands as a distributor - his one big elite aspect - and that just happens to not really fit the GS philosophy. This pushes them right up against the hard cap and I suspect that Russels value is at an all-time high - halfway into the season when Klay comes back, I have a pretty strong feeling GS is going to struggle pretty mightily and Russel's value will NOT be anywhere near 2 first-round picks and a 2 rotation players on a championship team - it makes zero sense to do this.

Eating Whitesides salary and using him in a cousin role AND RECEIVING A FIRST FROM Mia would have been the smart move to eat Durants salary void - on top of that its a 1 year deal on top of a player that would likely contribute to GS next year and fits a need.

Well, from the Warriors perspective it is all about maintaining their pen of valuable players. Next year is already a "purgatory" year for them with the Durant and Thompson injuries. Iggy at 35 has dwindling value. They hoped to resign Durant, but with him leaving they scrambled to see how they could get maximum value in return. And it was a stroke of luck that Durant chose the Nets which is the team D'Lo could be had via sign-and-trade. So the Warriors salvaged as much value as they could in their pen by signing D'Lo. They can figure how it all fits later, and make trades if necessary, while still preserving their pen value.

If Durant chose the Knicks, D'Lo might be a Wolf right now. We don't know all the circumstances just yet (if ever), but if D'Lo is so short-sighted about the future as he seems to be, then maybe the Wolves missing out on him in not such a bad thing...

For the Wolves, D'Lo was a chance to change our starting PG with a piece for the future. But as for next year, I don't think D'Lo is all that much of an upgrade over Teague (assuming Teague is healthy). I love that Teague is still committed to the Wolves and is actively participating with the Wolves Summer League team, along with Covington!

Durant has the ball a lot too and played plenty of ISO ball. Russell obviously isn't one of the best scorers of all time but he is a legit passer as a guy with PG skill set who will be playijg next to one of the greatest shooters of all time for much of the season and then eventually will be playing with Klay. It possible that the ball moves just as much or even more with Russell in the offense not less. Offense won't be a problem it's the defense especially without Klay and Iggy. I'd guess they end up with a worthwhile wing for cheap who will be interested in having a starting role for 40+ games with Klay out.

Lol!! Thanks to Q and Crazy for a great morning laugh? I think I'm going "crazy" too because I think there might be something to this. Wiggins for Russell. This will be my dream until it's officially crushed on or before July 6. :)

So GSW gave up multiple 1st round picks for Andrew Wiggins... instead of simply trading for Andrew Wiggins straight up?

Or getting an asset WITH Andrew Wiggins?
