Dieng would be a 17 mil expiring after next season, giving the Cavs cap space for when they might be ready to make a noise. Teague may have to be flicked to a third team, otherwise he would be an asset for them come trade deadline as a 19 mil expiring starting caliber point guard. They could easily flick him to a another team for late 1st round pick. Like what the Kings and Cavs did with George Hill in previous years.
OK. I didn't realize you were including a 1st round pick. I wouldn't give up a future 1st just to dump any contracts. I'd have to know that I'm going to get D'Angelo Russell or someone comparable.

Kiwi, you still need to explain how we are going to be able to sign russel when we just save 20m in your deal. That number likely go down in terms of actual cap space that can be used on free agents.

Now excuse me if I'm incorrect as my knowledge isn't the greatest on the NBA salary cap but this is how I work it out:
Andrew Wiggins $27.5
Robert Covington $11.3
Karl-Anthony Town $27.25
Josh Okogie $2.5
Cam Reynold $1.5 (non guaranteed)
Keita Bates Diop $1.4
DeAngelo Russel $24
John Henson $9.5
Jarret Culver $5.3
Jaylen Nowell $1.2
JR Smith $3.8 (partially guaranteed)
Total = $115.25 mil
Luxury tax level = $123.7
Contracted players = $115.25
Cap space left before hitting luxury tax level = $8.45 mil
My understand is we would still have the MLE and Bi Annual exceptions to use. We could also stretch and waive Hensons contract.

FWIW WCS is going to be available.
Monster, Ive been thinking about the kings as well as a place for wig. Personally, I think wig is better than barnes and a better fit for the kings too.
My holdup here on why kings might hesitate is the years on wigs deal. 4 more years on max money. Kings will pay fox max in two more years and hield might get near max if not max a year from now. Bagley is up for extension in 3 more seasons too. If wig is only up for 2 more seasons then I would absorb his salary if I were the kings and take a chance. But 4 more years with 3 guys that could command max or near max extension in 3 succeeding years is what gives me pause.
Im sure the kings would be willing to resign barnes for near max money if it were a 2 year deal but will hesitate to go 4-5 years on him.
Barnes is a significantly better player than Wiggins, and I'd be willing to bet that the Kings offer him a four-year max (or near max) deal.

Today I listened to a podcast "The Heat beat" and they had Albert N the Miami guy that's a cap guru. He discussed the various details of a possible Butler sign and trade to Miami (short story it's unlikley). They talked about the J.R. contract. Albert pointed out the Cavs are in the luxury tax. You are gonna have to blow them away with assets to even get the JR Smith non-guaranteed deal. They may want to save a boatload of cash themselves by waiving him themselves as they are looking at a repeater tax. They did pay assets and over 5 million to get the pick to draft Kevin Porter Jr but yeah.

The last thing David Griffin would consider is adding Wiggins to the roster for the remaining 4 years of his max contract. He's way too smart for that.

Lip David Griffin is the GM for the Pelicans. Not the Hornets or kings

I'll admit every once in a while this New Orleans/Hornets Pelicans mixup happens to me too. Lol I don't know how many years it will take before remembering that LAC coming across the NFL scores isn't the Clippers.
FWIW Lowe and JJ talked about the Hornets as a hypothetical team that might be interested in Wiggins. My friend from college that lives back in Cali is a big Kings fan and likes Wiggins. I'll try and see if he can make something happen. :)
